Can low iron levels cause irregular periods?

Can low iron levels cause irregular periods?

The reverse is true: Heany cycles is a common cause of iron deficient anemia in women. However, low iron will not cause the irregular cycles. Cycle timing and frequency is hormonally controlled, not influenced per se by iron levels.

Anemia: It is more likely that your irregular or heavy bleeding would lead to your iron def anemia rather than other way around. Iron can cause constipation or some abdominal discomfort. You may need to talk to your doctor about birth control pills or other types of hormones to help control your cycle.

Dx with low cortisol. Could this cause daily headaches/migraines and/or irregular periods?

Dx with low cortisol. Could this cause daily headaches/migraines and/or irregular periods?

Complex question: Addison's disease is adrenal failure, and that can cause you to be quite ill. However, it is not clear what is meant by "low cortisol". Cortisol varies considerably throughout the day. One blood measurement does not diagnose much of anything. You may want to see an Endocrinologist before beginning any treatment for this.

What could cause irregular periods and appetite suppression?

Likely not related: Irregular periods mean you don't ovulate reliably or regularly; if you have spontaneous periods you are ovulating sometimes. Any doctor who works with reproductive age women should be able to help you sort your cycles out better! appetite/suppression has a loose association only with menstrual cyclicity.
