Can Liver Problems Cause Chest Pain
Can a liver/gallbladder problem cause pleurisy or any other kind of annoying dull chest pain that a month ago emergency insisted wasn't my heart?
Follow-up as directed: The gallbladder to cause pain in the right upper quarter of the abdomen and epigastric region which can radiate to the back and lower chest. Peptic ulcer disease can also cause epigastric and lower chest pain. Other non-cardiac causes of chest pain include pleurisy, which is inflammation of the lining of the lung; muscle strain; and many other things. I'm glad you had your heart checked in the emergency department however I am sure they told you to follow up with your regular doctor and this is extremely important. ...Read more

What would cause severe chest pain - not shoulder pain- immediately following percutaneous liver bx?
What would cause severe chest pain following liver biopsy? Happened to me but was never given a reason why.
Get checked,,: The liver biopsy is a relatively traumatic procedure where, as I recall, the abdominal cavity is entered and a wedge shaped piece of liver is removed. This can have some bleeding and pain afterwards. You're also on CellCept (mycophenolate mofetil) which has thrombosis as a side effect and might cause a clot with possible complications. It'd be wise to see your doctor anyway for an exam. Best of luck. ...Read more

What causes chest pain, sharp, stinging nerve-like pain in upper left chest extending to abdomen? Brief but strong, occurring over last 3 days?
Causes and mechanism:
Many potential causes of such symptoms but the same mechanism --
when the chest pain is sharp and fleeting, stinging or electrifying, can be at varying intensities -- it is caused by irritation of the nervous network in the chest wall. The nervous system is rather like the body's own electrical system -- so the sensation is indeed electrifying.
The most common cause is a simple chest wall strain. ...Read more
