"Damage" unlikely: It often takes time to feel 100% again after treatment of any type of infectious process including a UTI in a 27 year old. Just stay the course with your medications, drink plenty of water, cranberry juice if that's your persuasion during this decade when it appears to be helpful, and remember, to wipe "Front to Back." Test for kidneys: It depends on what kind of blood work you had. A renal function test evaluates kidneys, a CBC shows white count which may be elevated during an infection. If you believe you have kidney stone, see a urologist. If you have fever, you could have infection going on. Low back pain: on both sides of back is almost NEVER from Kidneys. U have low back pain, which almost everyone gets , if u live long enough. Look up low back exercises, do them twice daily,take an aleve (naproxen) if needed, and in 6-12 was, 90% chance it will resolve...until it comes back ...Read more

How do you know if your back pain is caused by your kidneys and/ or any other problems? I've had mris/cts, would that show up?

Back pain: Usually assicuated symptoms help with diagnosis . If coming from kidney there will be blood in urine, burning upon urination, pain from loin to groin. Other cause is musculoskeletal pain which is associated with pain on movement , relief on staying still, worse at night. Hope this helps ...Read more
