Have ibs. Flared up Friday. Have had diarrhea since. Took Imodium (loperamide) didn't work. Everything goes thru me. Dizzy when standing. What can I do.
Sometimes when I have an IBS attack I go to the bathroom 12-15 times a day. I start getting dizzy and sometimes vomit. Could I die from dehydration?
Dehydrated for sure: It is sounding like a trip to the PCP or GI doc should be planned soon. 12-15 bowel movements (BMs) per day is way to much. There are decent treatments for IBS with medication, food elimination diets, probiotics, and even stress reliving strategies. OTC Imodium (loperamide) may help slow BMs in the meantime. Drink plenty of fluids. If your symptoms worsen, you may need to seek help from the ER. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have ibs, c. Lately I have been very fatigued with occasional dizziness. Now have strange orange stool/ diarrhea and nausea. Should I worry?
Thoughts...: If you're having a significant amount of diarrhea and nausea so that you're not taking in the same amounts of fluids, you could be dehydrated (which will cause the fatigue and dizziness). A viral illness could cause your symptoms but so can other infectious or inflammatory processes. I'd be concerned about fatigue and dizziness along w/ diarrhea, and it's best to get checked out. ...Read more

See a doctor: Nicole, if you have been sick for 8 years it is unlikely someone on a free advice site is going to be able to help much! It certainly sounds as if you need to have your thyroid checked again, assuming you are on replacement, and possibly have your adrenals and other hormones and chemistries checked. Certainly you should stay well hydrated. But get an exam please. Good luck to you! ...Read more
