Had endoscopy done all clear nothing at all but still get acid takeing lanzoprozole but don't work any reconmendation?
Usually: Prevacid (lansoprazole) helps with acid reflux. If use of proton pump inhibitors, GERD precautions like Upright 1 hour b/f and after meals, no smoking, minimizing alcohol, avoiding NSAIDS, small frequent meals and HOB elevation do not improve symptoms, alternative diagnosis may be considered. ...Read more
Sir iam suffering from severe nausea from 2 years and no medicines works upon me the endoscopy reports are normal. ...........Plzzzz help?
See other specialist: If gastroenterologist has completed workup, labs are normal, and no medications that can possibly cause nausea, then may need to be referred to neurologist to see if there is central nervous system that be causing the nausea. Knowing other associated symptoms would help. ...Read more
>10 yrs ago had Endoscopy for dysphagia. Everything looked normal. Put on Nexium (esomeprazole) "hoping" it would work which it did. Is this "NERD" that I have?
Can an endoscopy also detect dyspepsia? Also what meds work with it and what foods should be avoided?
Detect causes: Dyspepsia is a symptom generally described as upper abdominal discomfort. An endoscopy can diagnose different causes of it i.e. Gastritis, ulcers, h. Pylori infection. Typical treatment is acid suppression with an h2-blocker or proton pump inhibitor. A bland diet would make the most sense with these type of symptoms ...Read more

I think I need a endoscopy for GERD what ways do they sedate you and how long does it take for the sedation to work?
MAC for anesthesia: Assuming you are otherwise healthy, nost likely a single IV drug called propofol will be used under the care of trained anesthesia personnell. This is called MAC or Monitored Anesthesia Care where you are deeply sedated yet breathing on your own to allow the endoscope to pass into your esophagus and stomach. Recovery is usually less then 15min to wake up and dicharged in an hour to home. ...Read more
Used to have big appetite not anymore. Never really hungry just have sweet/salty cravings even when not hungry. Normal endoscopy and blood work.?
Depression?: Loss of appetite may be a sign of depression especially if you have problem sleeping as well. The more important question is " are you losing weight"? If you are not, then you are merely substituting sugar and salty food for calories- not a healthy trend. If this fits your picture, I would recommend psychologic counselling. ...Read more
What is the difference between NERD & GERD? If my endoscopy shows normal but I have dysphagia corrected by Nexium (esomeprazole), (esomeprazole) is this NERD? . Only Nexium (esomeprazole) works.
NERD: ... Is an endoscopic term meaning that no erosions were seen in the esophagus by endoscopy. It does not mean that you do not have gastroesophageal reflux disease. If Nexium (esomeprazole) helps, I would continue that medicine, as recommended by your gastroenterologist. You should also continue antireflux measures, in addition. Good luck. ...Read more

What OTC medicine works better than Prilosec for frequent heartburn for acid reflux disease. I have been diagnosed by endoscopy?
Tums (calcium carbonate) won't do it: Please get examined by a doc. A natural approach is to use lots of dgl. Dgl is licorice supplement but it has an enzyme removed that can raise BP licorice is eaten over a long period of time. Avoiding acid-forming foods can help and don't lie down right after eating. 46 gym fit male, Gerd at times and trouble gaining weight, yet I have been eating more calories. All bathroom and blood work 100% normal, . endoscopy?
Most likely...: If all your blood work including a thyroid test is normal then the next step when you are having such symptoms and unable to gain weight is to see a gastroenterologist. An endoscopy and possibly a colonoscopy might need to get done. Depending on your insurance you might need a referral from your primary care provider. ...Read more
My doctor wants to use propofol on me for my endoscopy because he said versed & fentanyl didn't work well w/ my colonoscopy. Is propofol safer?
It is a safe drug: Propofol is a safe drug if administer by an anesthesiologist or a CRNA. During administration of the drug the patient has to be fully monitored. The monitors are the following. Ekg, blood pressure, pulse oxymeter (measures the blood oxygen content) and a capnogram (measure the end tidal co2). The drug is short acting, intravenously administered. ...Read more

28 yo clear colonoscopy and endoscopy, and all full blood work that came back normal as well. Could pancreatic cancer be causing my low abdomen pain?
Highly unlikely: Put your mind at ease. Pancreatic cancer is rare below age 45. The pain of pancreatic cancer usually is in the pit of the stomach, not the lower abdomen, and radiates around to the sides and/or straight thru to the back. It may be intermittent and made worse by eating or lying supine. It is frequently worse at night. Lying in a curled or fetal position may improve the pain. ...Read more

Should I have exploratory surgery on my abdomen? I have been dealing with stomach and/or intestinal issues for a couple of years now. I have had many tests such as, endoscopy, colonoscopy, xrays, ct's, tons of blood work, gall bladder scan and stomach emp
First of all you need a surgeon who is willing to do an ex lap surgery. The only thing I think they may find is possible scar tissue and honestly I am not sure this would cause all of your symptoms. It sounds like you may be dealing with ibs (irritable bowel syndrome), however the vomiting is not characteristic. Have you or were you ever exposed to any chemicals or lived near an industrial plant? Is it possible that you are ingesting a substance that you are unaware of? Consider your surroundings and everything you take in. Is anything different in your life since this all started? If you think of anything discuss this with your doctors; every bit of information may be helpful in solving this puzzle.
I hope you find answers soon. ...Read more
Mild reflux gerd-endoscopy no problems in stomach or esophagus - blood work WBC 2.5, hct 37.9, RBC 4.15, mono%14.3. Should I worry? Gallbladder?
What are you sxs?: When treating a patient, we treat him/her as a whole, not just labwork. You only presented your labwork but never related your symptoms. Before I say you should or should not worry, it'd be nice to know what's going on with you. On a different note, your WBC is lower than normal, but again, that said, more info is needed and more values on complete blood count are needed. ...Read more
Bad gas pain upper ab pain and constipation. Negative colonoscopy endoscopy full body CT scan normal blood test thyroid blood work normal. I'm lost?
I'd say IBS like,,,,: I would say that this is a case of ibs or irritable bowel syndrome. You have gas and constipation, with pain. This is a classic presentation. You could likely improve these symptoms dramatically with a diet high in fiber, with vegetables and fruit along with enough protein from meats. More fluid consumption also helps. Best of luck. ...Read more

Can muscular pain appear suddenly & last for months? Pain in left scapula & mid back along with tingling in arm. Intense lab work, cxr, endoscopy, EMG, head and neck MRI. ALL negative. I am desperate
MRI with gadolinium:
I'd consider MRI with gadolinium contrast of brain, cervical, & thoracic cords. I'm not convinced the pain is muscular based on the information. Doesn't sound like there's testing or examination data of spasms or muscle enzyme elevations, etc. Pain may be coming from the spinal cord or brain. Si gustas una consulta privada: www. Healthtap.
