Do I need to fix my lazy eye? When I don't wear my glasses (pretty often), my lazy eye drifts sometimes and I get double vision. Is there something I need to do about this?
Things to ponder: When you don't wear your glasses & you start having double vision, your brain doesn't like it. Keep it up and your brain can decide to turn off the eye causing the double vision. If it happens often enough you can loose some vision permanently. Work with your eye doc to keep your eyes in the best shape possible. Wear your glasses or get surgery. What you are doing now could cause long term harm. ...Read more

What to do if I have a double vision in both the eyes, and it is not going evenafter putting glasses please help?
Consult a eye doctor: You may have a palsy of one of the cranial nerves causing dysconjugation of gaze. A formal eye exam will be able to rule out a nerve injury as a cause of the symptom. If it is a nerve injury, it may be temporary & treatable with an eye patch over the affected eye for a period of a few weeks. Ultimately, you need to consult a specialist for a full eval to determine the cause & the right treatment. ...Read more

You need to be sure that the double vision is only in one eye. Cover your left eye and see if it is single, then cover the left one and do the same. If you only have double vision with both eyes open, it is most likely a problem with a nerve controlling one eye movement muscle. This is seen most often in diabetic patients, and those with high blood pressure. So if your double vision is only with both eyes open, you need to see your primary care doctor.
If the double vision is truly only in the left eye, then you may have a problem in the retina in the back of your eye. For this problem, you need to see your ophthalmologist, and have the dilate that eye. ...Read more

I have monocular and binocular double vision meaning covering any eye doesn't make a difference, what does this mean the cause could be?
Double vision: True binocular diplopia is due to misalignment of the eyes. This can be due to a CNS or PNS lesion. "Double vision" in just one eye is ALWAYS an eye problem, NEVER a brain or nerve problem. So one is nervous system, the other is eye. These are very important diagnostic distinctions. "Eye" is what ophthalmologists do; "nervous system" is what neuro-ophthalmologists do. ...Read more

Suddenly can't see out of eye the other day I was watching tv and I started having double vision. Then the next day I woke up and my left eye was blurry and I couldn't see out of it at all. I've been getting migraines my entire life and a few hours after
The: The symptoms are not typical for a migraine alone. You noted two distinct and dramatic symptoms (double vision, blur), separated in time, and I think you indicate a headache as well. More history will help to zero in on the problem, and if you were my patient i'd have you come in promptly (i.e. That day) to figure out what's going on. While migraine (which can change in presentation over time), loss of control of a pre-existing eye muscle imbalance, and/or surface irritation would be the most benign cause, other, time sensitive and potentially dangerous situations should be investigated immediately. You might have a vascular cause needing immediate attention (e.g. Transient ischemic attack, temporal arteritis or other inflammations) or other issues. My advice: see your eye md asap. ...Read more
