Can I Watch Scary Movies While Pregnant
Why?: I don't think scary movies are of any good whatsoever. More and more people come with complaints of nightmares, insomnia and phobias as a result of exposure to scary movies. Remember, it is not just you now, it is also your baby is exposed to what you are exposed. He/she doesn't need excessive epinephrine. If you were not you little kids watch them, why would you do that to your fetus?See 2 more doctor answers
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
Probably correct: Scary experiences by a pregnant woman & by anyone, is probably counterproductive. Pregnant mother's thoughts likely arouse physiological responses to fear & high tides of hormones not conducive to feelings of comfort and joy; for mother or child. One of the secrets of life is that our thoughts generate our reality. Seek love and avoid fear (fearful thoughts).
Yes: The interesting range of emotions, fear, generated as you view a movie will produce some hormonal changes in your body & those will be part of babies environment. There is no evidence that this produces anything worst than your bodies response to the stresses of daily living.See 1 more doctor answer
Largely unknown: Aside from the anecdotal "born with hair-raised straight up after Psycho while pregnant", not too damaging. However, your adrenaline levels will be experienced by your developing fetus. It is not really known what effects such things have on a baby. It is best to reduce stress and remain as calm as possible, but epinephrine will also rise during exercise, too.See 2 more doctor answers
??: Depends on the person, if it frightens you and you don't enjoy it, don't watch them. But if they thrill you and you enjoy them - no harm done. Have fun!
I like watching horror movies, my friends they say it' s not good to watch movies like this when you are pregnant. Is that true?
It is fine: If you enjoy horror films I can't imagine why you should avoid them when pregnant, as long as you avoid physical contact with zombies.
It is up to her.: I personally don't like some types of movies - so whether pregnant or not, I avoid watching things that are unduly upsetting.See 1 more doctor answer
Depends on you!: Some women enjoy horror movies, and for those women I think it is fine to watch horror movies while they are pregnant. Other women get bothered by horror movies, so those bothered by them shouldn't watch them. Not because it would cause a pregnancy problem but because it would be stressful. Also some pregnant women find they don't want to see movies with pregnant women with problems.
Ok, this a shrink: Answering your question. Others may not agree but I don't think getting hyper ; terrified is particularly good for anyone. Why upset yourself- especially if you are pregnant? I found myself more emotional and upset by gross things when I was pregnant.
Movies: There are no restrictions on the type of movies a pregnant woman chooses to watch.
I'm pregnant. Is it safe to watch movies at theaters? It gets pretty loud, especially action movies. Last time baby kicked hard when I went. Safe?
Iam 27 yrs old and iam 16 wks pregnant. Is it ok to watch movies in the theatre? Some say it's not good for foetus to expose to loud noises....
Not a known problem: The baby fetus is "under water", so all sounds are muffled. Watching loud movies should be ok, but if worried, one can watch the quieter movies now, and save the louder ones for next year.
I am 3 months pregnant, 12 weeks 6 days. Is it safe to watch horror movies? Will it harm my baby?
No: Watching horror movies will not harm your baby.
Is it safe to watch movies in movie theatres at 28 weeks pregnancy... Does it have any affect on the baby?
Safe.: Pick a movie you think the baby might enjoy.
I'm currently 21 weeks pregnant. I want to watch this horror movie in theater but I've heard its harmful for the baby to feel anxiety and fear. Is it?
What to be watching? I am 36 weeks and 6 days pregnant and have thinned out. Dilated to two and have been told I could go anytime. I have scare tissue on my cervix from previous procedures and am told that is the only thing holding back the dilation. I
Sometimes: Sometimes it can be very difficult to know the difference between urine leakage and amniotic fluid at the end of pregnancy - often the only way we can tell is to look at the fluid under the microscope. Because you are 36 weeks and have been having contractions, you should give your ob/gyn doctor a call. They may either want to see you in the office, or may send you to the hospital to be checked. Either way, you should be checked sooner rather than later. Congratulations!
No guarantees: Some tips: have sex with your man mid-cycle. Empty your bladder before sex and elevate your hips slightly on a pillow during sex. Lie on your back for sex and stay there for at least 10 minutes after ejaculation. Make sure you don't have any vaginal infections. Watch for signs of ovulation (a mucusy discharge with the consistency of egg white). That's the night to make the candlelight dinner!
Yes, stops wt gain: You should be watching your diet even before you get pregnant regarding your weight and eating healthy foods, avoiding sugars, fast food etc. Once pregnant the goal is to eat healthy esp. Proteins, fruits and vegetables and not gain too much, but its not the time for weight loss or dieting.See 1 more doctor answer
