Can't tell: Usually t ; a is not recommended lightly and i would doubt that a nasal spray (presumably cortisone) would affect them. If they are causing breathing problem or recurrent ear infections, then it should be considered. I suspect that your doctor is trying to sort out whether it is the nasal congestion is the real cause for the recurrent otitis media and sinus infection by using the nasal spray. ...Read more

Try saline.: You may first want to check with your surgeon because there are several different kinds of packing. Usually, over the counter nasal saline (salt water) sprays are very useful after sinus surgery to help rinse away dried blood and crusting. They can be used with splints or stents in place. Have a deviated nasal septum, don't want surgery.Been causing post nasal drip & bad breath for years, taking nasal spray & antihistamine. Not helping.

Reconsider : A deviated nasal septum can cause a lot of problems. My patients who have the surgery almost all wish they had it done sooner. Get in to see an ENT (maybe get a second opinion). He/she can give you more information pertinent to your case. Bad breathe and nasal drip can be a sign of sinusitis and if so, often needs antibiotics. Yes: A little bit of blood tinged stuff or small blood clots can be expected in the 1st couple of weeks. But if you suffer from profuse bleeding , contact the surgeon immediately.
