Elbow bursitis - safe to use kettlebells?

Safe but not advised: The most common elbow bursitis is an olecranon bursitis. This usually is not very painful but does cause a prominent bump on the back of the elbow. It is safe to use kettle bells, but the bursitis will not go away until you rest the elbow. Sometimes we need to remove the bursa with surgery.

Surgical excision: Surgery for noninfected bursa. If elbow bursitis is not a result of infection, surgery may still be needed if nonsurgical treatments do not work. In this case, surgery to remove the bursa is usually performed as an outpatient procedure. The surgery does not disturb any muscle, ligament, or joint structures. Good luck.

How long will it take for water at the tip of my elbow caused by bursitis to go down?

Elbow Bursitis: Fluid at the tip of the elbow is called olecranon bursitis. It can occur after a direct blow, but it also can occur in people who do a lot of desk work. If you continually rub your elbow on a desk it can occur. If the fluid persists for more then a week I would see an orthopedist. It may need to be drained. If it starts getting red then you need to go right away as it may become infected.
