Can I take Zantac (ranitidine) in the morning and tagament at night?

Yes: These are helpful for stomach acidity and have essentially the same effects and side effects. I am not sure why you would do it this way but for simplicity, use up what you have and then pick one to take twice per day in the future. ...Read more

The max dose for Zantac (ranitidine) is 2 150mg pills/day, but my heart burn is terrible and i have already taken 2. Can i take a tagamet on top of those two?

I wouldn't.: If your pain is so severe and is not being quelled by two Zantac (H2 blocker), then I would question whether it is acid reflux. I'd go see a physician. However, you can also consider trial of a proton pump inhibitor like nexium (esomeprazole) instead to see if it helps. I still recommend you seeing your doc. ...Read more

My 8 year old takes 1-75mg of Zantac (ranitidine) everyday is it ok for her to take 2 each day of morning and of night if needed ?

CAN BE.....: Up to 75 mg 2 tab can be given usually depending on the diagnosis; e.g. For gastro esophageal reflux disease (gerd) and erosive esophagitis, dose is double of the usual. Anyways, better talk to her pediatrician or GI doc if you want to continue this dose longer. ...Read more

Increase the prilose: You may take an additional Prilosec at bedtime, or see your doctor for a rx strength medication. An antacid as an additional medication may also be helpful. If you have symptoms of relux over 2 times a week which are unrelieved with over the counter medications, (burning from acid in your esophagus) you should seeyour dr. ...Read more

Been having acid reflux problems not sure the cause. 1 150mg of zantac (ranitidine) was working now it's not. Is it OK to take 1 in the morning and 1 at night? A

Reflux: If you're experiencing true acid reflux it's probably more effective to switch to the ppi class of medications like prilosec or nexium (esomeprazole). Don't forget to avoid alcohol, caffeine, nicotine or highly spicey foods. If symptoms persist, consult a gastroenterologist for accurate diagnosis and treatment. ...Read more

Is Dexilant (dexlansoprazole) 60mg in the morning and Zantac 150 at night safe to take and if so for how long?

Safe to take: These two medications inhibit the release of acid in your stomach. The acid does have an important role in digestion. The ppi meds (dexilant) have an adverse effect on calcium absorbtion in the body and therefore can contribute to the development of osteoporosis. You need to work with your doctor to find out why you are having and what you can do to decrease the gastritis. ...Read more

Is it recommended to take Prilosec in the morning and Zantac (ranitidine) at night for complete acid relief of GERD?

Is it recommended to take Prilosec in the morning and Zantac (ranitidine) at night for complete acid relief of GERD?

See your doctor.: If you are initially treating presumed acid reflux, Prilosec 20 mg once each morning about 20 minutes before eating any food is a good start. If it does not completely relieve your symptoms after two weeks, however, or if they recur after stopping the Prilosec, then I would seek out treatment long term through your family doctor. Anti-reflux measures are important too. Good luck. ...Read more
