Depends...: What are you treating? If just indigestion, then antacids consumed 1 ; 3 hours after a meal and at bedtime may be helpful in the majority of patients, but may be too high a dose for a pregnant one. Don't know what your zantac (ranitidine) dose is either, ; perhaps with consent from your obstetrician this medication can be optimized. Hello. : Hello. I cannot diagnose the cause of your symptoms. Many different conditions are possible. Gallstones, cholecystitis, an ulcer, gastritis, heartburn, colitis. You should see your doctor. IMHO, Yes: Halls cough drops should be perfectly safe in pregnancy, unless you had some unusual sensitivity to one of the ingredients. If you took them before you were pregnant, they should be fine now. ...Read more

Yes: Keep taking the Tums for calcium. Zantac (ranitidine) is pregnancy category b so considered relatively safe during pregnancy. If Zantac (ranitidine) helps, but not enough, you could try Prevacid 24-hr (otc) which is also category b. Safety for either in breast feeding is unknown. ...Read more

Gastroenterologist: This is not normal and I recommend that you consult a gastroenterologist for diagnosis and treatment. Gastritis is treated by a bland diet, AVoidance of alcohol, caffeine and nicotine. If zantac, mylanta are no longer effective the next step is the taking of medications like prilosec or nexium, (esomeprazole) but your obstetrician would have to sanction its use.
