What to do if I have a stye and my mum got me chloramphenicol eye drops can I use them if I already use the eye drops maxidex (dexamethasone)?

Not effective: Styes are best treated with frequently applications of heat. Eye drops cannot enter the part where the infection lodges so the Maxidex (dexamethasone) and Chloramphenical will do no harm but will not be effective. The heat must be applied for 4-5 minutes at least 5 times per day using a washcloth from the very warm (not hot) water tap. ...Read more

After treatment: The best thing is to wait until the infection is completely clear, and the antibiotics are finished. You may need to replace your eye make up as well. I have dry eyes. I already have glasses and i took eye drops for 2 months. Do i just have to go to an actual eye doctor. Idk what to do im tired of it?

Dry eyes: Can have many causes. If OTC eye drops don't help in 2 days, let alone 2months, continued usage will not suddenly begin to help, and may actually do harm. See an Opthalmologist, a specialist eye physician, to discover cause, and to then prescribe the appropriate treatment. You need a comprehensive eye examination. Not a computer link. ...Read more

Have an exam: Probably not prudent to use old bottle of drops, or drops intended for another person, to treat what you may believe is "pinkeye". Old bottles may be contaminated or expired.
