Can I take Zyrtec-D and NyQuil cough together?

Can I take Zyrtec-D and NyQuil cough together?

ZyrtecD+Nyquil Cough: I would recommend that you NOT take these medications together at the same time because doing so will be like taking 5 drugs at the same time. Take the Nyquil Cough before going to bed. If needed, you can take the Zyrtec (cetirizine) D once daily as needed in the morning. Reserve the Nyquil for just before bedtime.
If you have diabetes or high blood pressure, check with your doctor first. ...Read more

Can I take Zanaflex (tizanidine) and zyrtec d together? Treating a sinus headache.

Can I take Zanaflex (tizanidine) and zyrtec d together? Treating a sinus headache.

Not appropriate use: Zanaflex (tizanidine) is a muscle relaxer (http://www. Drugs. Com/zanaflex. Html) so it's not intended for use in treating sinus headaches. Moreover, use of Zanaflex (tizanidine) w/ZyrtecD (antihistamine w/decongestant) runs risk of drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, difficulty concentrating, and impairment in thinking and judgment. You didn't ask but definitely don't recommend concomitant alcohol. http://goo. Gl/w30maz ...Read more

Can I take Zanaflex (tizanidine) and zyrtec d together? Took zyrtrec for my allergies but would like to also take my muscle relaxer.

Can I take Zanaflex (tizanidine) and zyrtec d together? Took zyrtrec for my allergies but would like to also take my muscle relaxer.

Better not: If taken together can cause CNS depression and psychomotor impairment, zanaflex (tizanidine) has a short half life 2.5 hours, so it can stay in your system for 5 hours or longer, zyrtec has a half life of 9 hours, so it can stay for about 18 hours, drop one untill you talk to your doctor about an alternative, spacing them out, or dose reduction, good that you asked, always exercise caution with multiple meds ...Read more

I can't sleep at night because of allergies. I take zyrtec and singulair, (montelukast) together, but still have symptoms, primarily an itchy throat at night.?

Allergy/poor sleep: Do try prilosac for gerd as dr. Bansal suggested. You may also try one of the older antihistamines like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or chlortrimeton which may help you sleep. You can still take zyrtec in the day time.
Singulair can still be taken at night. It has no effect on sleep. If medicines are not helpful, allergy evaluation and immunothrapy
may be helpful. ...Read more

I am taking regular allegra (fexofenadine) 24 hours along with flonase and eye drops. Not getting much relief....is it safe to also take zyrtec d or sudafed d?

It is safe to take: sudafed, but not zyrtec and allegra (fexofenadine) together-only 1 or the other. I would try zyrtec, it is stronger than allegra (fexofenadine). No decongestants if you have high blood pressure. No zyrtec D and sudafed together, as they both contain decongestants. Use zyrtec plain. ...Read more

I'm having an allergy attack. I'm already prescribed Zyrtec and Singulair and still can't stop sneezing. Can I take Benadryl with these 2 meds and go to bed?

I'm having an allergy attack. I'm already prescribed Zyrtec and Singulair and still can't stop sneezing. Can I take Benadryl with these 2 meds and go to bed?

Allergy meds: Yes - there should be no reaction with the singulair and maybe a slight reaction (increased somnolence)the the zyrtec but since you are heading to bed that isn't an issue. You might want to double the dose of Zyrtec going forward as the 20 mg dose was actually better when the drug was being developed. ...Read more

Allergy: A one time dose should be OK. Diphenhydramine is short acting while Zyrtec is long acting. So, there will be some overlap, but short lived. Adding Zantac (ranitidine) also helps improve the symptoms faster since the two groups of medications have a synergistic effect. ...Read more

Zyrtec-d (10 mg) makes it hard for me to sleep. Is it okay to cut one in half?

Are there any longterm effects of using singulair (montelukast) and zyrtec daily? Both perscribed and I have had no syptoms of asthma for the last 1-2years.

Fantastic!: No, there are no long term problems with using both of these on a daily basis. They are doing exactly what we want them to - no ER visits or hospitalizations, no need for oral or IV steroids to keep your asthma controlled. Keep up the good work and make sure to exercise your lungs as well to build up their capacity and good health! Flu shots will be available in about 2 months for this season.... ...Read more

Too tired to drive. I've been looking at allegra-d and zyrtec-d. Which one would you recommend?

Allegra (fexofenadine) 180 mg: Zyrtec may cause drowsiness. Allegra (fexofenadine) does not cross into the brain and should not cause drowsiness. The "d" component is a decongestant and may cause insomnia, decreased appetite, high blood pressure and in men - urinary difficulties due to prostate issues so I do not prefer the Allegra (fexofenadine)-D products.
