Yes but why iron?: This is safe in terms of not having excessive doses of any but few men need to take iron- iron is a pro-oxidant. Other than young children, I only advise iron supplements to menstruating women. Generally men can get adequate iron from diet and excess iron intake increases risk of heart disease and cancer so unless you know you are deficient in iron I would not supplement with it! ...Read more

Can multivitamin be taken with yogurt? Does it affect iron absorption? And does it affect vitamins efficiency? I take them with yogurt.
Not with yogurt.: You should take vitamins after a meal. Many vitamins require the minerals in food to be used as cofactors to help activate the vitamins in order for them to work more effectively. The calcium and sugar in most commercial yogurt products do not help to improve vitamin absorption. It is best to take iron with vitamin C to improve iron absorption. ...Read more

Is it okay that I take 18mg of iron because my multivitamin contains iron, which vitamin A-Z are all 100% RDA approved that says on the label.
Best get iron-free: The RDA for iron for men is only 8 mg and most obtain that from diet. It's safe to consume more than the RDA of virtually all vits & minerals EXCEPT iron. Just one, however: I'm not sure what you mean by start working- even one will increase the amount of vitamins in your body. But there are many far better choices than 1 a day. It has soy which is likely from gmo sources which I consider risky. It has 3 artificial colors that can cause adverse reactions (& are unnecessary), titanium dioxide (a possible carcinogen)& synthetic vit e which is also unhealthy. See comment:. ...Read more
Is 10 mg of iron in a multi vitamin too much if I do not need extra iron? I took a multi with this amount for the last three days.
Not a problem: If you get enough iron in your diet (e.g., meats, beans, fortified cereals), and are not low on it somehow (e.g., women losing it with heavy periods) you won't need to take extra iron. However, the amount you mentioned is not a lot of iron. For comparison, a packet of oatmeal has approximately 11 mg of iron. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I bought vitamins: calcium, iron, & garlic. Is it ok if I drink them once a day being that I bought them individually instead of the multivitamin?
OK, however...: It is fine to have those once a day but I don't believe they are a substitute for a multivitamin; despite the recent study claiming multivits don't work, a good quality multivit is wise for almost everyone to take ; folate (folic acid) is esp. Important for women who could become pregnant. All adults should take 5-8, 000 iu of vit d/day in fall ; winter; if you are taking calcium for bone health d ; k help more! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
