Can. I take Mucinex (guaifenesin) dm with sudafed? Trying to drain out eustacian tubeS

ETD: You can take Mucinex (guaifenesin) DM with Sudafed, but I don't know why you would do that. The dextromethorphan in the Mucinex (guaifenesin) is for a cough suppressant. You're better off taking Mucinex (guaifenesin) D and take one medication to treat the problem. Additionally, you could purchase Nasacort AQ over the counter and use a nasal steroid spray to help your ETD symptoms ...Read more

Today I was told I could take sudafed and mucinex D together. Took mucinex D 12 hour at noon and 2 sudafed every 4 hours. That's 240 mg of pseudoephedrine in like 12 hours. Am I going to be ok? Is this bad? Just realized it has the same ingredient

No more Sudafed: Please do not take any more pseudoephedrine. 240mg is the maximum daily dose of this drug. If you have high blood pressure, this is a dangerous drug and should be avoided. A fast, irregular, pounding heartbeat, mental or mood changes like anxiety, confusion, restlessness, shaking, difficulty urinating, as well as swelling, difficulty breathing, itching all need immediate evaluation. ...Read more

Is it okay to take sudafed and Mucinex (guaifenesin) together?

Is it okay to take sudafed and Mucinex (guaifenesin) together?

Yes: This is fine to take together and some companies will package these drugs together into 1 pill. The sudafed is a great decongestant and the Mucinex (guaifenesin) can help break up the mucus in your nose/sinues/lungs. If you have any heart issues or blood pressure issues, you will need to check w/ your doctor 1st before you take the sudafed. Mucinex (guaifenesin) works best when you drink plenty of water. ...Read more

Not sure what to take? Sudafed or Mucinex (guaifenesin). Trying to get over nasty residual effects of flu, I.e phlegm and congestion.

Meds for flu symptom: Sudafed (the kind you may have to sign for at the pharmacy) helps relieve congestion by shrinking the tiny blood vessels in the nose. Not okay if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure.
Plain Mucinex (guaifenesin) helps if you also drink lots of water, by making the mucus more fluid so it runs out rather than getting stuck.
Can be taken in combination as in Mucinex D. ...Read more

Can you take Mucinex (guaifenesin) (expectorant) and sudafed together and will it keep you up at night. Or will nyquil be better for stuffy nose and mucus in throat?

Mucinex (guaifenesin): Will not keep you up, but sudafed may. They are okay to take together. Nyquil may be better if you do not want to stay up and is okay to take with an expectorant as well (just make sure that the nyquil you bought doesn't also have an guaifenisin in it as well).
