Is it OK to take miralax daily (or every other day) until a fissure heals? I increased water, fiber, & exercise but still need extra help w softening.
Yes, it is OK to take Miralax daily.
There are different types of laxatives. Some are safer than others. It depends on how they work.

Stool softners- colace
Osmotic laxatives- This is Miralax type

Constipation: Senokot (senna) can be taken every day to treat constipation in a safe way. Aside from being irritating, Fleet's enemas should be avoided. Increase water intake and amount of fiber in your diet to decrease constipation. Keep checking in with your doc and keep trying other non med things, like water, fiber, exercise, etc. Ultimately it's a decision
about the risk of not having bowel movements and the complications from that like bowel obstruction or colon cancer or diverticulosis vs the risk of the med. ...Read more

Constipated for 2 wks. I took MiraLax & Colace for 3 days, but neither helped. I've been drinking prune juice & eating high fiber foods. I've gone a little, but I'm still constipated. My K level is 3.2. What can I do at this point? (Best options?)
Enema/water: At this point I suggest that you try a Fleet's enema which you can buy at the pharmacy. Continue the miralax (polyethylene glycol) nightly. The colace is not likely to help much but adding a fiber supplement, walking daily for at least 30 minutes and drinking at least 3 liters of water daily could also help. If this does not work then you may need to see a doctor for a medical intervention. ...Read more
I've tried linzess trulance miralax psyllium and other fiber supplements diets my stool is still pencil thin. Is triphala safe?
Safe enough: Triphala is an herbal formula used in Aruvedic medicine often for bowel problems/relief of constipation. It consists of at least three plants; it is not clear what chemical is responsible for it's effects. I would be more skeptical that it would provide any benefit for you, if the other things you list have not, more than I would be worried it was unsafe. You could try it without expecting too much ...Read more

I have IBS-C. I'm on MiraLax (polyethylene glycol) plus I consume 30 grams of fiber everyday. Sometimes my BM is pencil thin & other times it's normal. Is this concerning?
Not a concern: Narrowing of the stool is generally not a serious matter in a 20 year old, especially if you have IBS. Some cases may also be due to narrowing or spasm of the anal canal, so evaluation by a specialist may be helpful in ruling that out. ...Read more
Taking diltiazam; the constipation requires daily miralax (polyethylene glycol) and fibers and bm still a strain. Not happy at lifetime (?) use of miralax (polyethylene glycol). What do I do?
What to do about constipation in 3 year old? 3 year old doesn't want to use potty---holds it. Is taking miralax (polyethylene glycol) daily. Eats fiber bars. Doesn't like apple juice. Is constipated. Rectal suppository not working.
More miralax (polyethylene glycol): Talk to your doctor, but if she is still constipated on MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) she may need a higher dose of miralax (polyethylene glycol). If she is eating fiber bars make sure she is drinking plenty of water. She should also sit on the toilet for at least 15 minutes after each meal. I'm taking verapamil and am constipated. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) & costco optifiber (wheat dextrin) don't seem to work. What fiber supplement would you recommend?
Change meds: I believe that constipation is a common side effect of medications. When simple methods to manage these complications fail, altermative treatments should be sought. 7d post-colonoscopy, no BM, nausea, bloating, reflux, abd pain, back pain. Tried fiber supp, MiraLax, (polyethylene glycol) prune juice. How else can I wake up my colon?
Dose-dependent drug: Doctors define constipation as stools less frequently than once every 3-4 days. Patients feel they are "constipated" when passing hard or small volume stool, or they feel full & bloated. We can't tell from your question if this is a one-time problem or a recurrent and progressive one. Also, we don't know if you're blocked, if your gut is sluggish, or your rectum works correctly. Consult your doc. ...Read more
