Have sjogrens syndrome. Get "backed up" & loose stools despite fiber, h20, &miralax. Normal colonoscopy. Senokot (senna) results in normal BM. How often can I take?
Constipation: Senokot (senna) can be taken every day to treat constipation in a safe way. Aside from being irritating, Fleet's enemas should be avoided. Increase water intake and amount of fiber in your diet to decrease constipation. If daily Senokot (senna) does not help, an appointment should be made with primary physician or GI specialist Read more
Can a 1 yr old baby take everyday any kind of fiber or miralax (polyethylene glycol) because of constipation caused by whole milk? And if yes how much the recommended dose?
Have lupus/sjogrens. Eat high fiber diet w/more than enough water. Take Miralax (polyethylene glycol) 2xdaily & probiotics. Despite this, still get "backed up". Other tips?
Rheumatology consult: See your rheumatologist to ensure that your gastrointestinal symptoms are being managed. Was a little under the daily recommended fiber grams today. Had 25.6 grams. Still on dolcolax and miralax (polyethylene glycol) though. Will I get backed up now?

Keep checking in with your doc and keep trying other non med things, like water, fiber, exercise, etc. Ultimately it's a decision

I'm recovering from diverticulitis started on miralax (polyethylene glycol) & fiber. I am pooping 3-4 times a day & hurts sigmoid sometimes is this natural?
Yes: The multiple stools are likely from the fiber and miralax (polyethylene glycol). The pain from the initial occurance may linger for several days. Constipated for 2 wks. I took MiraLax & Colace for 3 days, but neither helped. I've been drinking prune juice & eating high fiber foods. I've gone a little, but I'm still constipated. My K level is 3.2. What can I do at this point? (Best options?)
Enema/water: At this point I suggest that you try a Fleet's enema which you can buy at the pharmacy. Continue the miralax (polyethylene glycol) nightly. The colace is not likely to help much but adding a fiber supplement, walking daily for at least 30 minutes and drinking at least 3 liters of water daily could also help. If this does not work then you may need to see a doctor for a medical intervention. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I've tried linzess trulance miralax psyllium and other fiber supplements diets my stool is still pencil thin. Is triphala safe?
Safe enough: Triphala is an herbal formula used in Aruvedic medicine often for bowel problems/relief of constipation. It consists of at least three plants; it is not clear what chemical is responsible for it's effects. I would be more skeptical that it would provide any benefit for you, if the other things you list have not, more than I would be worried it was unsafe. You could try it without expecting too much Read more
