Been taking Lexapro (escitalopram) for five years. Once I stop how long does it take for the drug to leave the system?
Not that simple: Assuming you haven't developed any liver or kidney disease in the last 5 years, the drug will be eliminated at the same rate whether you've taken it for 5 years or 5 days. The difference is that your brain may have accommodated to the drug in ways that are not dose-dependent. If so, how long the drug EFFECT will wear off in your case can't be predicted or measured in any practical way.
I've been on Lexapro (escitalopram) for seven years at 10 mg recently increased to 15 how long will it take to work?
Hard to say: Could take up to 3 weeks. Remember though that the changes will be subtle at best. Keep in regular contact with your prescribing doctor and discuss your symptoms.
How long would it take to get off 15mg Lexapro (escitalopram) which I am taking for 5 years for G A D.I am on 50 amityripiline also and I find it better. Thanks?
Work w/ Dr: Tapering is the right plan and your best option is to work w/ the Dr on a schedule suited to you. I'd expect it to be safe to be off w/in a few months - but let the Dr plan it w/ you. Best!
I was prescribed to take Lexapro (escitalopram) 10mg years after years for anxiety. After being stable (few years), can I reduce to 5mg and keep on? Or maintain 10mg?
Therapy?: In addition to Meds, have you yet tried any form of psychotherapy? Typically, the optimal combination of things to treat emotional issues such as anxiety or depression is medication (which, on your best day, is supposed to take the edge off symptoms) but the real gruntwork takes place in psychotherapist's consulting room.
Can I take pseudoephedrine hci with lexapro (escitalopram)? And what about phenylephrine? The first one has been my preferred cold med for years.
DrugDrugInteractions: Yes, you can take Pseudoephedrine w/lexapro (http://www. Drugs. Com/interactions-check. Php? Drug_list=1964-0, 1013-565). However, it's always best to tell your prescribing doctor & dispensing pharmacist everything you're taking, whether prescription or otc, so that they can pre-emptively look for drug-drug interactions before prescribing you something.See 14 more doctor answers
When do the all the lexapro 10mg withdrawal symptoms stop I've been taking it for about 4 years and quit cold turkey 5days ago? I take clonazepam 0.5m
Hopefully Soon: In general it is not a good idea to stop medicines like Lexapro cold turkey especially after you been on it for several years. Usually you're supposed to taper yourself off of it. That is to say you gradually decrease the dose until you stop. I would recommend you ask your doctor or pharmacist about this.
I have been taking Lexapro (escitalopram) for 5 years, my doctor gave me meclizine to take while on our 7 day cruise. Is it ok to take both medicine together?
Too much to drink on New Years & very nauseous 3 days later. Took peptobismol & still gassy. I'm scared to take my Lexapro (escitalopram). No food only fluids 24hrs.
Call your doctor: Regarding your nausea and Lexapro (escitalopram) medication. It is not recommended to take alcohol and Lexapro (escitalopram) together, although there are no known "interactions" between the two. It is "possible" that side effects may increase when you mix the two. Alcohol has been known to worsen what your doctor is treating. It should be fine to resume your meds, but its always best to check with your doctor first.See 1 more doctor answer

Switched to Paxil (paroxetine) from Lexapro. Also take Valium, in process of weaning. Paxil (paroxetine) was first AD I took many years ago. Could it help my Panic again?
See discussion: There’s no reason that paxil (paroxetine) wouldn’t manage your panic disorder even if you’ve been off of it. Much of it depends upon how well you responded to it in the past, if you had side effects, etc. Please discuss with your provider such that you may be prescribed an adequate dose to treat your symptoms. Good luck!
I take 10 mg of Lexapro and 300 mg of Wellbutrin (bupropion) as well as 50 mg of Trazodone for insomnia. I have had insomnia for years. Is this combo dangerous?

I have been diagnosed with GAD for 10yrs now I take 10mg of lexapro which helps reduce my anxiety but does not generally help with my panic attacks. I have been using xanax throughout my years of having GAD but my doctor won't prescribe it to me long term
Lexapro (escitalopram): Generally, I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (or some other related type) as an adjunct to almost every treatment I prescribe. In panic disorder, this really helps prevent the panic attacks before they begin. When absolutely necessary, I've also found Klonopin to be a bit more helpful than Xanax (alprazolam). So, maybe discuss those options with ur psychiatrist. Hope that helps!See 2 more doctor answers

I'm on 20mg of lexapro (escitalopram) and I hurt my ankle today. Can I take ibuprofen to help with swelling and pain. I donated a kidney over a year ago also.
Lexapro (escitalopram): I commend you for your kindness to donate the kidney! Using Lexapro (escitalopram) with ibuprofen may increase the risk of bleeding. The interaction may be more likely if you are elderly, have kidney or liver disease. Put the ice on your ankle and have a family member take you to see Physician for Diagnosis and Treatment. I just recently strating having problems with anxiety and depression this year. And I'm not sure what is the right way to handle it. I do take lexapro at night and ambien to sleep but I don't feel aby different and I have gained 30 Poulsbo so all around I
Depression, Anxiety: I understand your concern. Using Ambien (zolpidem) with Lexapro may increase dizziness and difficulty concentrating. You may also experience some impairment in thinking and judgment. Gain of 30 pounds is likely a symptom of Depression due to stress. See Physician for diagnosis of weight gain. See Psychiatrist for Diagnosis, Medication benefits and side effects, dose, and Therapy for stresses in your life.
