Hi!Being treated for ulcer.I have a headache,but have only ibuprofen&aspirin.Both have stomach bleeding warnings. Can I safely take either?
Caution: With an ulcer, you are correct that both those meds can possibly cause intestinal bleeding and certainly irritate the ulcer. Yes: All anti-inflammatory medications increase risk for a cardiovascular event (mi, stroke, death). These risk seems to be associated with higher doses. So it's best if you take the lowest possible dose for a short duration. The other concern with nsaids and Aspirin is increase risk for GI bleed. NSAIDS: NSAIDS are associated with such side effects. In your case, you are young and NSAIDs may not cause heart attack or stroke at this stage.
