Yes: All anti-inflammatory medications increase risk for a cardiovascular event (mi, stroke, death). These risk seems to be associated with higher doses. So it's best if you take the lowest possible dose for a short duration. The other concern with nsaids and Aspirin is increase risk for GI bleed. If you have risk factor for this you have to be cautious and may want to take some zantac (ranitidine) with it. ...Read more

Caution: With an ulcer, you are correct that both those meds can possibly cause intestinal bleeding and certainly irritate the ulcer. Get some Tylenol (acetaminophen) which would not cause the intestinal issues. If you can't get out, maybe a neighbor has one until you can buy some yourself. Good luck. ...Read more

NSAIDS: NSAIDS are associated with such side effects. In your case, you are young and NSAIDs may not cause heart attack or stroke at this stage. People with underlying atherosclerosis and with plaque formation in their arteries are at higher risk.
