Can vitamin b complex cause acne? What about fish oil? I wanna take a supplement to make me gain weight but I don't want acne risk if ever? Help?
Supplements and Acne: Hi, neither b complex or fish oil will cause acne. In fact, both of those can actually be beneficial to those suffering from certain types of acne. Having said that, neither of those will lead to weight gain either. Gaining good weight is a result of healthy eating of appropriate nutrients including proteins and "good" fats as well as an appropriate exercise regimen. ...Read more
Is it ok to take multi-vitamin, b-complex, vitamin A, calcium, and fish oil together? Will it help to boost my immune system?
Some advice: If you take a multivitamin you do not have to take b complex or vitamin A. It's actually unhealthy to take too much vitamin A. Fish oil in proper doses is antiinflammatory and does affect blood lipids, but has not been shown to reduce heart attacks. None "boosts" the immune system. ...Read more

Yes, But Why?: It is generally safe to take these vitamins and supplements, or they would have been taken off the market. However, they are almost always totally useless unless you have a specific vitamin deficiency, and can be a danger. Despite the sales propaganda, we are not mostly vitamin deficient as long as we have a reasonable diet. Save your money and buy a gym membership for the most benefit. ...Read more

OK to take together: It is fine to take these together. Vitamin d and fish oil are best taken after a meal as they are fat-soluble. I take fish oil, vitamin c, vitamin d, calcium plus vitamin d, red yeast rice, multivitamin, which of this is the most effect?
Ca and D: Why are you taking all that junk? What do you think it will do for you? How will you know if it's working? What deficiency are you treating or what disease are you trying to prevent? There's no scientific evidence that any of that will help you except for good calcium in your diet and about 2000 units of d a day. Don't get your medical info from tv, friends or the internet. ...Read more
Sure: Don't expect them to do you any good. The real scientific work on all three has been horribly disappointing. Poor source of D: Most fish oil has little or no vitamin d. Cod liver oil can be a good source of vit d but most brands of cod liver oil have had the vit. D mostly or entirely removed. Most adults need 5-8000 iu of vit d a day for optimal levels. Read the label of your fish oid to see how much d (if any) it contains. If it does not list d on the label it probably does not have any! Take d3, not d2 which is dangerous. ...Read more
