Not smart: Adding overly large amount of one pain killer (anything more than 400mg Ibuprofen is not more effective than 400mg) to a large (extra strength aspirin) can do more harm than good. Should be fine as: Excedrin only contains acetaminophen as the pain reliever along with aspirin, not ibuprofen. Though taking too many medications will make some things worse. Be careful and wait for the medications to take effect rather than reaching for more pills. And get some sleep if you can, which helps migraines a lot (personal experience :) ) ...Read more

Dad takes whole bottle of tylenol/wk, Excedrin the next wk, then ibuprofen. He cycles through these pain meds wkly. He said his doc rxed this? Bad?

People who consume alcohol or other drugs which are toxic to the liver and taking tylenol are at greater risk for liver damage.
