Can I Take Estrogen The Day Of My Colonoscopy
Colonoscopy, endoscopy, CT scan, pelvic ultrasound, fsh, ca125,estrogen all normal. I have severe pelvic, low back, rectal pain. Dr says IBS-c. AGREED?
All the bad stuff: is rather ruled out completely. Ovarian cancer would be totally ruled out (and would be classic for these symptoms) You are, too young for it, too. http://www.nerdpocalypse.net/diseases/irritable%20bowel.html Other associated symptoms. Pain, bloating, gas, rumbling stomach or pain association with defecation strongly suggest IBS. ...Read more

Should one take electrolytes during preperation and on the day of colonoscopy to avoid dehydration?
Not necessarily...: In a healthy person without any electrolyte abnormalities prior to the colonoscopy preparation, which is usually only the day prior to the procedure, drinking adequate water should be enough to prevent dehydration and adding electrolytes is usually unnecessary... again assuming the pre-procedure electrolytes are normal. ...Read more
Colonoscopy scheduled next week. I already go 4 or 5 times a day and barely eat. Should I take the entire prep? I'm afraid of dehydration.
On the day before a colonoscopy, should I take the laxative solution before or after I eat dinner?
I had a colonoscopy yesterday. The diarrhea has not stopped since taking the MoviPrep the day before the procedure. Can I now take an anti diarrheal? Is there anything else I can do? Thanks!
Yes, yet patience +: wash gently almost certainly the wisest option. Quick "fixes" are widely marketed and make lots of money for those selling them. Yet that does not mean that using them, in most cases, is wise or accurate thinking, other than having less money to spend on other issues, hopefully of more value. ...Read more

Take 200 mg daily prometrium took blood test cycle day 21 progesterone .9 estrogen 40 fsh 7.2 lh 3.9 progesterone still low?
FSH: age 50: 200 mg. of prometrium will not raise your progesterone levels above what is noted. An FSH of 7.2 is not menopausal, and indicates that you are producing significant levels of estrogen, just not ovulating, which makes the progesterone level only produced by the prometrium. This is normal for age 50, and your ovaries are still active and productive of estrogen. ...Read more
My Hubby is scheduled for a colonoscopy. The day before his appt the inst. say to take 3 Dulcolax pills. We have Colace on hand. Can 3 Colace be used ?
No: Colace is merely a stool softener. A strong laxative is needed to clean out the colon as an inadequate preparation makes for an indeterminate colon visualization. Instruct your husband to carefully follow the instructions given to him. Avoiding roughage in the diet for several days precolonoscopy helps also. ...Read more
What time of day is best to take birth control pills? Is it healthier to be asleep or active when the blood estrogen level is highest?
Any time!: The absolute best time to take a birth control pill is when it's convenient for you to remember! These should be taken relatively at the same time each day, such as before bed, upon waking, etc. If you aren't able to remember daily, set a phone alarm or keep them next to your toothbrush, assuming you brush your teeth once a day. There is no health benefit as far as time of day is concerned. ...Read more
Hi. I have colonoscopy fri.Due to stomach pain i've eaten nothin for a no. Of days..Will I still have to stay off work when I take prep the day before?
Probably: You will still need to do the prep in order to have a completely cleaned out colon. If a polyp or something else is seen and a biopsy is needed then electro cautery is used and any residual gas in the colon from an incomplete prep may be ignited if you are a methane producer. But if you have not eaten much then the prep may not be, shall we say, as productive, but it would still be effective. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Samples taken for biopsy during my colonoscopy yesterdy. Today I am having pain on n off in som random places in lower abs. Anything serious? Can I take vitamn K n multi vit for biopsy wounds to heal?
Colonoscopy: It's not unusual to have mild discomfort shortly after colonoscopy. This is not due to the biopsies, but to residual air left behind after the procedure. If you have severe pain or persistent tenderness in your abdomen, call your Gastroneurologist immediately. Vitamin K and MVI's will not help the biopsy sites heal any faster. They do not cause pain and will heal just fine on their own. Good luck. ...Read more
Depends: That is a very difficult question to answer because more information would be needed. It depends on why you are taking the estrogen, your age, other medical conditions, family risks, other medications, etc. You should discuss the risks and benefits with your provider before making that decision. Estrogen can be safe for many people, but not all. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
