Is it ok to take calcium, vitamin D3 and magnesium together? Or do calcium and magnesium compete for absorption?

Is it ok to take calcium, vitamin D3 and magnesium together? Or do calcium and magnesium compete for absorption?

OK, to a degree but:: Calcium ; magnesium are often packaged together both in supplements ; foods. They compete a bit; calcium may reduce mag. Absorption but mag. Does not seem to reduce cal. Absorption. Those low in mag. Have difficulty absorbing cal.; if deficient in mag. It may be best to take it separately. http://www.nutraceuticalsworld.com/contents/view_breaking-news/2011-09-14/magnesium-is-key-to-calcium-uptake/. ...Read more

Can i take these vitamins together: fish oil and calcium/magnesium with vit d and prenatal vitamins?

Can i take these vitamins together: fish oil and calcium/magnesium with vit d and prenatal vitamins?

I am 60 and was told i need 1000 mg calcium intake daily. Can i take 500 mg calcium pills daily and balance food. Is calcium magnesium pill better?

Calcium balance: Current guidelines state that a person should not take more than 1000 mg of calcium in tablet form per day, and that dietary calcium is healthier form of calcium than tablet calcium. If your target is 1000 mg total, I recommend one tablet of calcium-magnesium (yes is better) and then get the rest of your total calcium target from food. Consult a nutrition counter for mg calcium in each food ...Read more

I have Calcium, Magnesium, and Zinc altogether in one pill. It says to take 1 to 3 caplets daily with a meal. Can I take all three at once, instead?

Med Directions: if it says 1-3 daily, then it means all at once. If it were to say take 1 tablet three times a day then it would mean exactly that. If it said to take one tablet up to three times a day then it would be how your are interpreting the directions. According to what you said the correct way is the first, 1-3 tablets all at once, one time a day. ...Read more
