Caladryl Not known: Benadryl is categoryb which considered safe during pregnancy, but caladryl is not known. It is an otc topical and if you are now in your second or third trimester, it is a safer time to use if needed. I have never heard of 500 mg ever being used to treat any condition. 50 mg of Benadryl is considered the usual adult maximum dose and many pregnant women have used this dosing.
