Ask your doc: Talk to your primary care doctor about it. There are conflicting reports about how much benefit daily, low dose aspirin provides. Don't be shy, and let your doctor know that you feel more comfortable taking it. Won't be a problem with the diverticulitis. It should be a discussion in the context of your entire clinical situation. Hope this helps! ...Read more

Is there evidence Plavix (clopidogrel) (Clopidogrel) causes more incidents of GI bleeding than Aspirin? Also Have Diverticulitis.

Plavix (clopidogrel) bleeds more: Aspirin acts to prevent platelet adhesion and the mechanism for Plavix (clopidogrel) is through
platelet also but different.

Ultrasound: Aspirin won't hurt, but it won't dissolve a thrombus (clot) if that is what you have. You should see a doctor asap and get an ultrasound. If you do have a clot and it breaks free, it could travel to you lungs and cause serious problems (pulmonary embolus). It may not be a clot after all, but I wouldn't want to take any chances. ...Read more
