Yes: Yes, prenatal vitamins are fine -- however, are you also on some medicine for your depression? You don't list any, and vitamins alone will probably not be enough to help your depression. If you haven't already, please consult a psychiatrist -- if this psychiatrist does not also do talk therapy, you'll benefit from seeing a psychologist as well. ...Read more

Can I have a vitamin d deficiency even though i take a prenatal vitamin (not pregnant) everyday that has 100% of daily value? Bone pain. I have itp.

Think ITP: Think like a doctor: you have a diagnosis -- itp. Before you look for another cause of your "bone" (leg?) pain, try to connect it with your established diagnosis. Itp is a pro-clotting disorder; could your "bone" pain be in fact due to a blood clot in a deep vein? This – but not vitamin d deficiency – would be my first (and major) concern. ...Read more

Having hypothyroidism is it safe to take prenatal vitamin and biotin even if i'm not pregnant?

Yes: Having hypothryroidism does not affect your need for vitamins. The only concern is that taking calcium supplements can interfere with absorption of thyroid hormone, so if the penatal vitamin has calcium take it at least 2 hours after taking thyroid. Also, i advise having your doctor check your free T3 level- if not in the upper half of the normal range consider adding liothyronine (t3). ...Read more

Is it okay to take 1 prenatal vitamin, 1 Azo yeast pill, and the 3 required hair skin and nail vitamins in 1 day? And no, I'm not pregnant.

Skin and nail: You may be taking more Vitamins than you need. The Prenatal Vitamin likely has everything you need. Too many Vitamins can actually cause more harm than good. You would have to read the contents of the skin and nail Vitamins and see if they overlap with the prenatal (which they likely do). Then total all of it up to see if you exceed safe levels. One Vitamin a day is usually enough ...Read more

Is it safe to take a DHA omega supplement along with my prenatal vitamin while I'm pregnant?

Highly recommended: Congratulations! It is not only safe to take DHA supplements during pregnancy but highly recommended, as DHA is important for the formation of your baby's brains and eyes. Prenatal vitamins are helpful too, but each does not reduce need for the other. Look for DHA that's purified and guaranteed to be free of mercury. Best brand include Carlson, Nordic Naturals, Barlean's and Life Extension. ...Read more

I had a MC on May, Currently taking Vitex and prenatal vitamin while TTC, Should i continue to take Vitex if i fall pregnant to prevent another MC?

Talk to your doctor: While Vitex may help support progesterone, it is not proven to be enough to help to maintain pregnancy in women with insufficient levels of progesterone causing early pregnancy loss. You should talk to your doctor about more sustained progesterone treatment, if this was a factor for your miscarriage. ...Read more

Unlikely to help: The vitamins you are taking are unlikely to help with growth of hair. Adding Biotin is not expected to make any difference. You may wish to consult your doctor for other options like Rogain foam or pills ...Read more
