Can I Take 1mg Of Melatonin With 5 Mg Of Zolpidem Tartrate
Is it safe to take 10 mg melatonin and 50 mg diphenhydramine HCl an hour before bed almost every night? I have trouble getting to sleep most nights.
You could, but why?: You probably could, but why would you want to? Taken occasionally, zolpidem is a good medicine for help with falling asleep (but not staying asleep). Melatonin has minimal effects on sleep (it does help change the circadian rhythm). For long-term use, medicines like zolpidem are not that great an idea. If the cause cannot be found, medicines like trazodone or Doxepin might be better. ...Read more

If prescribed, safe: If your doctor has assessed your needs and prescribed zolpidem for you, it's safe to take intermittently. It's intended to make you drowsy and fall asleep -- this is its main side effect. Some people have also had sleepwalking incidents taking it though. Have you had a full evaluation of your sleep complaints? ...Read more

I have a question I would like to discuss suicide & zolpidem tartrate I attempted a major suicide in 1999 but was pulled from my car after 4hrs.?
Discussing Suicide: As healthtap does not have resources for private, in person discussions, it can't be as helpful for such a topic as seeing an individual psychiatrist or therapist would be for you. I hope you are in treatment with someone like this. If you're seriously considering suicide again, please contact your own physician, call suicide prevention hotline @1-800-273-talk (8255), or call 911. ...Read more

Perhaps: 24 yo female uses Ambien (zolpidem) & has severe headaches & lethargy. Yes, stop Ambien (zolpidem) & see if symptoms regress. Investigate medicinal cannabis for natural & refreshing sleep commonly imparted by this herb. ...Read more
I've taken ambien (zolpidem) 12.5 CR for year. I'm cutting it down now to 6.25 CR. Some nights I get no sleep at all with this change. Can I take melatonin too?
Can I take 10 mg of melatonin as well as 10 mg of Ambien (zolpidem) so I can get a good night sleep?
Melatonin is more a sleep cycle medicine then a true sleep aid. While people dose up to 12 mg I don't think you get much more benefit than 3-5 mg.
I am not a fan of Ambien (zolpidem). It works well in the short run but does not deal with the underlying sleep problems and has multiple side effects.
If both were rx'd and you are desperate - yes it will be ok, though I don't think it is a long term solution. ...Read more
I am currently taking half of a 10 mg ambien (zolpidem) but after a while it no longer helps with sleep. My question is can I also take 10 mg of melatonin?
Sleep hygiene: Ambien (zolpidem) is not recommended for long term use, you develop tolerance After a period of time. The best advise I can give is to develop what is called a sleep hygiene, I mean by that is going to bed every night @ the same time and waking up every morning @ the same time, avoid any stimulus including TV, computers, smart phones. I also recommend avoiding sleeping aids, like in your case Ambien (zolpidem). ...Read more
Can I take melatonin and ambien (zolpidem) (10mg) together? Ambien (zolpidem) has lost it's effects and melatonin barely works. What's an overdose level?
Melatonin and Ambien (zolpidem): Do not have significant interaction. Melatonin (OTC) has a role in regulation of the sleep-wake cycle. May dose up to 20 mg/d. Ambien (zolpidem) (prescribed) improves sleep onset; best taken without food. If effect lost then consult prescriber to review your situation and determine best course of action. Review good sleep hygiene (https://sleepfoundation. Org/ask-the-expert/sleep-hygiene). Best regards. ...Read more
I take 10mg of Ambien (zolpidem) a night. I can't sleep without it have tried all herbal & melatonin. My Ambien (zolpidem) doesn't work if I have eaten anything within 6hrs?
Tolerance: Ambien (zolpidem) fails to work forever. It is a dangerous and unhealthy choice for chronic sleep problems. It does not allow one taking it to get full rest or to get natural sleep cycles. Using it daily leads to addiction. Addiction leads to tolerance and the drug becomes ineffective. You are not born with an "ambien' deficiency. Learning how to sleep naturally is the goal here. Please consider no ambie. ...Read more
I have chronic insomnia and my ambien (zolpidem) doesn't work anymore. Is safe take 10mg of melatonin and zzzquil together?
Other than melatonin, what could I take to help me stay asleep but not have an effect on sleepwalking. I tend to sleepwalk on Zoloft and ambien (zolpidem).
Insomnia: The best way to initially combat insomnia is proper sleep hygiene. Be sure to exercise and eat healthy throughout the day, don`t drink caffeine 6 hrs before bedtime and only use your bed for sleep or sexual activity. Also, staying away from drugs and alcohol will help you get better rest. ...Read more
Dr stopped my Ambien (zolpidem) for insomnia. Tried Trazadone 25 mg. For 1 month, lethargy next day unbearable. Now I'm to take 10 mg melatonin, as 5mg did nothing. Seems like huge dose. Ambien (zolpidem) worked perfectly.?
Sleep aids: Ambien (zolpidem) is generally a very safe medication when used as prescribed ensuring that you don't consume alcohol or take with other sleep meds. I would recommend discussing with your doctor why the ambien (zolpidem) was stopped. Melatonin 10mg is not excessive and although is at the higher end of the usual dosage, is very safe. If this works for you, I would stick with melatonin as the side effects are less. ...Read more
Can I take 50 mg of deoxylamine succinate, 3 mg of Melatonin, and 3 mg of Ambien (zolpidem) together for chronic insomnia and poor sleep quality?
You could, but: I fear that you are getting into a rather bad sleep/ medication cycle which will eventuate in medication tolerance, and worsening sleep. This is very complex, and at age 25, may need more direct help. There are sleep specialists available to guide you, and here on site, a couple experts in area. I thing a Concierge virtual visit is well worth your time. ...Read more
I was advised not to take ZOLPIDEM (Ambian) on daily basis so that I don't get used to it and then stops workin. What other alternative prescription in days I don't take. I tried Melatonin makes me miserable and don't stay asleep. Severe severe insomna?
Insomnia: There a re few other Rx medications you can ask your doctor about such as Lunesta or Belsomra. Over the counter Tylenol (acetaminophen) PM often helps people sleep. Benadryl is often Rx'd by some docs at 50mg nightly to help with sleep as well. Ask you doctor for other alternatives since they are telling you to take the ambien as needed sporadically only. They should have continuity of care and know. ...Read more
