Can I still have a baby since I had an endometrial ablastion ?

Can I still have a baby since I had an endometrial ablastion ?

Difficult: The purpose of an endometrial ablation is to destroy a part of the uterine lining. That is the part where a pregnancy would need to implant. I am 36 and i have had a tubal and a uterine ablation done maybe 7 years ago and my obgyn says i still have a chance to become pregant .

Depends: Tubal Iigations are very good at preventing pregnancy. There are some variations in failure rates depending on the type of tubal. But failure rates are less than 1%. By itself an uterine ablation does not mean you can't get pregnant but can make it more difficult. ...Read more

I had an DnC and uterine ablation can I still get pregnant?

Could but shouldn't: A D&C doesn't impact future fertility. An endometrial ablation is a different story. It is more difficult to get pregnant after an endometrial ablation but not impossible. Endometrial ablation is sometimes confused with uterine artery embolization. ...Read more

When cleared by doc: You should be able to begin trying after you are cleared by your surgeon. You should also confirm with the doctor why you have not been able to get pregnant. That way you and your doctor can see if other fertility treatments may be needed. Most can still get pregnant even before a uterine septum is removed. Confirm there are no other issues. ...Read more
