Get the STD screen: In my opinion to be on the safe side you should have a full STD screen done as soon as possible at a local clinic. Also this seems like a very traumatic emotional experience and so if you would like some counselling to help you deal with this I can offer you that. If you feel this would help you please set up an appointment with me on HealthTap: www.healthtap.com/drharoldmandel ...Read more

If i had a hysterectomy can I spread an STD to someone?

STDs: There are twelve stds. Not one of them is less likely if you have had a hysterectomy. That being said, leaves me to wonder what you are really specifically asking about. I've had a vaginal odor since my partial hysterectomy with no std diagnosis or exposure. Is there something I can take to re-balance my environment?

Bacterial vaginosis?: The main cause of strong vaginal odor, sometimes with discharge, is bacterial vaginosis, an overgrowth of mostly normal vaginal bacteria. Hysterectomy might trigger it. After a hysterectomy, can blood tests for std's be performed at a STD testing site that is not the physician's office? Is it common enough?

After a hysterectomy, can blood tests for std's be performed at a STD testing site that is not the physician's office? Is it common enough?

Yes.: Today full std testing can be done via blood test only, there is no longer need to obtain any genital swabs or even urine samples. The hysterectomy would make no difference in any case. You can ask your regular family physician to test you, for peace of mind, or possible exposure, and ask them to draw the blood for the test. It's that simple. ...Read more

Severe vaginal burning , ll quad pain, not uti, std, yeast, products or sex. Painful/difficult urination.Long endo history/ hysterectomy. Kidney stone?

Atrophy?: Atrophic vaginitis or desquamative vaginitis can cause the vaginal symptoms, as can other infections besides yeast, like bacteria and viruses. The treatments are all very different, so you'd need a gyn specialist to sort it out. As far as the llq pain, it may or may not be related, but it could be caused by a stone, or an ovarian cyst. But a kidney stone wouldn't cause vaginal burning. ...Read more
