Likely no problem.: You might have som crepitus, or crackling in your hip joint from joint ends grinding together. This can be a sign of arthritis, especially if you are older or did a lot with your joints, I would watch for arthritis in the future if I were you, but right now it is likely due to the unusual thing you are doing with your leg (s). Try not to get into these kinds of habits. ...Read more

Anxiety or medical?: A diagnosis of anxiety as a cause of physical symptoms can only be made when medical causes have been ruled out. Suggest you see your pcp for an evaluation of paresthesias. That said, anxiety can cause numerous physical symptoms even without conscious panicky thoughts because of the body's response to an adrenaline surge via the "fight or flight" reaction. I hope this helps. Best wishes. ...Read more

Suggest eval: Its hard to tell what's causing the pain.
With a careful orthopedic exam, the physician should
have a good idea about possible meniscal pathology.

My (L) knee been hurting & when I walk it feels like its popping out then back in on the sides &after it did that it started swelling up and red.

Exam would help: Hard to diagnose knee problems in this forum. Based on the "popping" there is a good chance this is mechanical (torn meniscus for example). In the absence of injury, then problems like infection, autoimmune disease, tumor would be considered. If this is recurring; let your doctor know. You may be cleared with a simple physical exam and/or xray, or you may benefit from seeing the specialist. ...Read more

What cause pain and pressure in back of the knee? There is no Bakers cyst. I have been having painful popping and locking? What could this be. Help

Seek help: Popping and locking can be worrisome symptoms. Structures in the back of the knee include your hamstring tendons and PCL, but they’re certainly not limited to this. I’d strongly suggest you get examined by a doctor as leaving a potentially serious injury may cause structural damage in the long run (no pun intended). ...Read more

I had Arthroscopic knee surgery 2 months ago and I am still having shifting, popping, locking of the knee joint. Is this normal? Pain in back of knee to

Locking isn't normal: Arthroscopic knee surgery is great to remove torn meniscus cartilage and loose pieces but it is not great to treat symptoms from arthritis. If you do have some arthritis in the knee, you may still experience shifting and popping. The locking is concerning for new loose pieces floating in the knee. Pain in the back of knee is likely a Baker's Cyst. See your surgeon to be evaluated. ...Read more
