Can a nurse perform laser liposuction?

they shouldn't: The question is not whether they can, but rather should they. I would highly recommend having your cosmetic surgery performed by board-certified plastic surgeon. The technical expertise in performing surgery and ability to manage complications is what physicians are trained for. Typically nonphysicians have little more than a weekend course in procedures such as injectables. ...Read more

Will i attain better results from liposuction surgery if it is performed while i'm standing up or while I am laying down? Summer is approaching and i'm currently considering a liposuction procedure. I've always thought liposuction to be a procedure that i

You : You are certainly correct that body contouring results depend on how we interact with gravity in the standing position. Since we are human, however, it would be technically rather difficult to perform liposuction on someone who is standing up. For this reason, the markings for liposuction are done at 360 degrees in the standing position. The patient is then placed recumbent for the surgery, either face down, back down or both. It is dependent on the surgeon's talent and skill to translate the markings made upright into the appropriate fat removal and scuplting. While early taping and dressings are applied with the patient lying down, later garments and taping are perfromed while standing to help mold the body into its new shape as swelling subsides and the skin resettles. ...Read more

Minor Differences: Personally, i think that there are minor differences between the technologies used for liposuction surgery. However, i think that the most important decision you make is who performs the liposuction surgery. In general i suggest patients seek consultation with board-certified plastic surgeons for these procedures. Ask to see lots of examples of their work and communicate with previous patients. ...Read more

No: It does not make it more effective. The only advantage is that it can be done with a bit of heat creating a possibility for skin tightening. However, there is a risk of burning the skin from inside. It is good for small areas. But it is a catchy name for patients. The device is as smart as the physician using it. ...Read more

Can you tell me how are the risks of performing an intra-abdominal liposuction not the same as omentectomy?

Liposuction: Liposuction is not (intentionally) done intra-abdominally. This would likely result in intestinal perforation or organ injury. Omentectomy - which is the traditional surgical removal of the fatty omentum - does not involve the use of liposuction equipment, but rather more standard surgical methods. ...Read more

Possibly.: Patients with medical “problems” are sometimes able to undergo elective plastic surgical procedures. These patients should have the medical conditions under good control; evaluation by their family practitioners/ internist is important prior to proceeding. This pre-operative “clearance” will provide your plastic surgeon with helpful information. Best wishes. ...Read more

Yes in an office: Laser liposuction is commonly performed in an office setting. This procedure is less invasive and painful than regular liposuction. It is generally done with local anesthesia in an office setting. Nature of Fat: Fat cells are simply storage containers for excess fuel. They expand and contract based on your diet and exercise. To a certain extent, you are responsible for the size of the fat cell. Fat cells normally do not replicate. Their number and location is determined by genetics. Placement of your fat cells determines your shape. Removal of fat cells is permanent and changes your shape as a result! ...Read more
