Hb of 11.1: A hb a1c means you have a mean glucose of 272. That means it is much higher after meals. I am all for weight loss and exercise. I am also of the opinion that you need to see a endocrinologist and start some medication to get your hb a1c < 7. That should be your first priority. Curious: Thyroid issues infrequently cause thyroid problems. If your doctor has never checked your thyroid levels he/she will probably do so at your next visit. Synthroid would increase your weight loss but there does not seem to be any thyroid issue. ...Read more
