Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Is it likely to get a positive blood test for pregnancy at 8 dpo?

Is it likely to get a positive blood test for pregnancy at 8 dpo?

Patience.: A blood test isn't needed. There's no need to rush. A urine pregnancy test done correctly gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and therefore lead to a repeat test. If a woman has her normal regular period, then she is not pregnant, and a test is not needed. ...Read more

I have positive blood test for celiac desease but negative endoscopy, what's going on?

Biopsy: Endoscopy per se may not show the lesions. Was a biopsy done and tissue examined by a pathologist? Just antibodies may or may not equate to disease. It would be prudent to discuss these issues with your doctor. ...Read more

If I'm symptomatic for disseminated TB, have a positive blood test for TB, negative sputum tests, should I be tested further?

If I'm symptomatic for disseminated TB, have a positive blood test for TB, negative sputum tests, should I be tested further?

Probably not...: I'm not sure what you mean by "symptomatic for disseminated TB". The symptoms of this are the same as for a hundred other medical conditions, infectious and otherwise. If you're not deathly ill, almost certainly you don't have it. A positive blood test doesn't mean much. Discuss with your doctor -- or if you and s/he remain uncertain. ask for consultation by an infectious diseases specialist. ...Read more
