I have hashimotos disease and wanted to know if having this disease u can develope pcos? I do not have diabetes but both of my parents do.

Not exactly: Hashimotos, type ii diabetes, and pcos are all autoimmune diseases and recent research suggests there may be a genetic link. The risk factors are similar for both, such as being overweight and carbohydrate insensitive. With your family history, watch your life style! ...Read more

I have hashimotos and pcos how hard will it be for me to get pregnant.I am not ovulating at the moment that I know of but have just gone gluten free.?

I have hashimotos and pcos how hard will it be for me to get pregnant.I am not ovulating at the moment that I know of but have just gone gluten free.?

Might be harder: I don't see how the gluten free diet will help, but if you're thyroid levels are normal (blood tests can determine this) and your pcos is being adequately managed, your chances are higher. One of the hallmarks of pcos is anovulation or irregular menses, so getting this regular will improve your chances. This can be done with weight loss (very important) or medicines. ...Read more

I have hashimoto's thyroiditis and pcos. I'm learning new things almost everyday. My main question is, can a miscarrage kick-start both of these?

No: Pcos is very common, affecting 5-10% of women. Thyroid problems are also common, and are more common in women than in men. A miscarriage would not cause either of these conditions. Two or more miscarriages is a reason to get checked out for causes of miscarriage, though. Best wishes. ...Read more

I have hashimoto's thyroiditis and pcos and have been trying to get pregnant. Is there anything i can do to help conceive?

Yes: Your thyroid levels need to be under contrlo with the medication. Also pco is due to an Insulin resistance so you need to do a low carbohydrate diet so you dont overstimulate the insulin. You may have to use additional meds like metformin and Clomid (clomiphene) for further assistance with ovulation. Check your ovulation on days 12-18 with an ovulation prediction kit. Good luck and hope this helps. ...Read more

Hashimoto's, pcos, obese. Watching calories and exercising. Still gaining weight. Gp given up. Can anyone please help me lose weight?!

Try metformin if you: Have pcos, working slowly up to 1500 mg help 30% of women ovulate, lower insulin, and can help weight. With pcos your risk of a mood disorder is doubled, buproprion can help and works well with metformin for weight loss but increase them both slowly. I usually give Clonazepam at night for sleep while initiating buproprion b/c it can make u anxious at first and may increase insomnia. ...Read more
