Could be normal: are you sure you had General Anesthesia? It's very unusual for colonoscopy. However you did have tube in your mouth breathing that's good cause sore throat. If you're a smoker sometimes it's normal to caugh as you wake up. In most patient this resolves in 2 to 3 days. Intubation done for: general anesthesia with an endotracheal tube placement to connect your lungs to a ventilator machine to breath for you which anesthetized can easily result in pharynx trauma, sore throat, depending on how placed & skill of anesthesiologist (they should have told you about this before & in writing after). The "white tip & redness" c/w an abscess with pharyneal cellulitis (red) & an abscess (white). ...Read more

Check to see that you don't havefever, pus on your pharynx or tonsils or enlarged lymph nodes near the angle of your jaws which could suggest need for a strep throat test.
