Metronidazole: This antibiotic has a half-life of about 8 hrs and it takes a about 5-6 half-lives to clear the drug from your system. Since I don't know when you took it last you can do the calculations yourself, but 48 hrs should be safe. Not sure whether minimal levels in your blood stream are likely to produce a significant reaction, but speaking from personal experience it is not worth finding out. ...Read more

Bad combination!: If you are taking metronidazole, you are absolutely not supposed to have any alcohol for at least 48 hours after your last Metronidazole dose. If you drink alcohol with the Metronidazole on board, you can expect symptoms of possible nausea, vomiting, flushing of the skin, tachycardia (accelerated heart rate), and shortness of breath.
