How soon after giving my 1 year old ibuprofen can I give tylenol (acetaminophen)?

Tylenol (acetaminophen) motín : Both are give every 6 - 8 hr. I have a 10 year old girl who has been taken loratadine for a week and now she says she that her head hurts can I give tylenol (acetaminophen) or motrin?

Yes but: I suspect that her headache may be from nasal congestion which loratadine has no effect on. Consider trying a nasal steroid for a few days and see if this works better. Yes you can give her Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin but it will not be that effective if the nasal congestion is causing the problem. If no response to nasal steroid, see your doctor. ...Read more

Too close: Tylenol/acetaminophen should be given at 4-6 hour intervals, with max of 5/d. Motrin/ibuprofen should be dosed 6-8 hours with max of 4/day. Check dosage label on the bottle for best effect. Fever itself is not harmful unless over 105+ degrees and helps the body to fight infection. OK to medicate for discomfort but push fluids as well and keep clothing light. ...Read more
