Can I give to my son of 5 months tusnel and benadril at the same time?

Can I give to my son of 5 months tusnel and benadril at the same time?

5month with meds: I am not familar with tusnel but it sounds like some sort of cough med. Generally meds are avoided that early in life - but if needed are usually dosed by weight. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) should be fine at 5mg/kg/24 /6 (2.2lbs per kg) and the liquid is 12.5mg/teaspoon. Ave wt for a 5 month =8kg (total dose =40mg/6 or a little under 1/2 teaspoon of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) every 6 hours. ...Read more

Can I give gravel and Advil (ibuprofen) at the same time to my 2 year old child?

Can I give gravel and Advil (ibuprofen) at the same time to my 2 year old child?

Huh?: I'm not sure what you were asking. I'm sure you did not mean "gravel". However, for fever or pain, Ibuprofen and acetomenophen respectably are best and tried for many years. However, never give a the same time. I personally never recommend giving naprosyn (naproxen) to a child. You don't ever want to give naprosyn (naproxen) and Ibuprofen together. Combined will increases risk of stomach bleeds and kidney damage. ...Read more

You need to have a follow up appointment to have these issues addressed. You will likely need a ua (urinalysis) and urine culture done. Also know that you can refuse treatments offered. Therefore if you do not want pain meds then you can refuse. Best of luck. ...Read more

How much childrens Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can I give my 16 mo old? My doc and nurse said that 1 tsp is ok, the box says not to give at all. It's for a flight.

Depends on weight: Dose of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) depends on the weight. It is not recommended in children less than 1 year of age.Dose for 20 to24lbs is Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is 3/4 tsf.25to37lbs is 1 tsf.The effect lasts for 4to6 hours. But it is not a good idea to give sedatives to babies for flight as benefits outweigh side effects.Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can make some children hyper and irritable.Useonly if you have used it before& there was no il effect. ...Read more

Delsym (dextromethorphan) only unless: Delsym is a cough suppressant(dextromethorphan),claritin (loratadine) is an antihistamine(loratidine). If child has a non-productive cough it won't hurt to give cough suppressant so s/he can get better night's sleep.Make SURE you follow correct dosing instructions CAREFULLY.Why do you want to give antihistamine? I would avoid it unless the doctor recommended it.Have the doctor check your chidl'd cough.Hope bes ...Read more
