Do you ever get rid of Lyme disease?

Do you ever get rid of Lyme disease?

With good treatment most of those with lyme will eventually become symptom-free, but it is possible that many may still have the borrelia bacteria present in the dormant cyst stage. There is no test to prove a full cure. ...Read more

How likely are you going to get lyme disease from tick bites in the UK? What are the real risks? Is overgrown garden a risk too?

Interesting question: Lyme disease has wide distribution in the USA but I am not aware of it being prevalent in the UK. How can you get treated for Lyme disease early when it's so hard to diagnose?

Not hard to diagnose: Most patients with lyme disease display the characteristic rash and associated symptoms, which makes presumptive diagnosis easy. If one tries to diagnose it using antibody testing you might wait too long to treat effectively. If you are in an area where this is common, have symptoms compatible with lyme you should be treated presumptively. May cause your antibody reactions to remain negative. ...Read more
