Could someone get malaria 60 years after they first got it?

Could someone get malaria 60 years after they first got it?

Malaria recurrence: It's possible that one type of malaria could 'come back' years later - that's Plasmodium malariae or P. malariae. There are cases of (veterans usually) who've gone overseas - got sick with malaria, then recovered, then YEARS later have it come back -- usually when some event occurs like a bad pneumonia. That's because this form of malaria can 'hide' in the liver. If in doubt see an ID doc. ...Read more

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

I'm pregnant. I have igg+ for toxoplasma before pregnant. Can it protect my fetus? Can i infection repeat it again during pregnant?

Your baby is safe: The igg indicates you have been exposed to toxoplasmosis in the past and it confers or indicates "immunity" (or protection) to you and your baby from future toxoplasmosis infections. You can't get a 'new' toxoplasmosis infection again during the pregnancy. ...Read more

Is it possible to contract malaria 60 years after you first got it?

Malaria: There are different malaria parasites, so an infection 60 years ago with one type may cause malaria, and a separate episode years later can be caused by a different type on a separate mosquito bite but still classified as malaria. If you mean the infection 60 years ago relapsing again now, not likely. ...Read more

Is it possible to get Chlamydia symptoms many months later I haven't been sexually active since before December of last year?

Is it possible to get Chlamydia symptoms many months later I haven't been sexually active since before December of last year?

Very unlikely: It would be unlikely to get symptoms of chlamydia (or any other STD) more than a couple of weeks after catching it. You don't say what symptoms you have, but if no sex for mroe than 6 months, probably they aren't due to any STD affecting the genital area, urinary tract, etc. But stop guessing or trying to figure it out from online forums. See your doctor for proper evaluation. ...Read more

Avoid risks: Anything is possible in life, so people can avoid risks so not to have to worry about catching HIV. One can ask his primary care doctor about when to screen for HIV. If the activities are low risk, the screening might just be routine, perhaps annually if not married and settled down. Avoiding HIV exposures is the key, especially for people who tend to worry. ...Read more

Can I still get meningococcal disease if i've had the men c vaccine?
