If i have vitiligo will the spots increase if i got laser hair removal?

If i have vitiligo will the spots increase if i got laser hair removal?

Probably not: In general, laser or IPL tends to increase pigmentation transiently after the treatment especially among those with olive or darker complexion. If you suffer a 3rd degree burn at the site, then you may lose pigment at that site that may or may not be permanent. Vitiligo is considered an autoimmune disorder and different from loss in pigment from injury. ...Read more

Had laser hair removal on legs. Have white marks because skin was a burned. Can i continue the sessions? Can i get suntan?

Yes/No: No such thing as hair removal. It is "hair reduction." if you were burned, you might want to have them turn the power down on the laser. You should never get a suntan whether or not you have scars and therefore should always use sun-block protection. Sun block is even more important when there are scars. ...Read more

Can i get dermabrasion if I have moles? I have a few large moles on my face. Can i still get dermabrasion? .

.

Avoid the moles: These few large moles sound like what physicians define as pigmented nevi. Anything pigmented can be difficult to follow to rule out changing to a melanoma. A melanoma has changes in color, irregular borders, can bleed, and can be itchy. If one gets dermabrasion of the mole, it may be very difficult to interpret the mole over time. The dermabrasion needs to avoid the moles and be done precisely. ...Read more

See a dermatologist!: There are many ways to treat sun spots, including topical products, peels, and lasers. Depending on their appearance, bleaching creams may help fade these spots. I will also use chemical peels for certain patients. Finally lasers are very effective for sun spots. Both intense pulsed light and other lasers can help minimize these spots. So see a dermatologist to go over the options. ...Read more

It : It is still possible that you will get ingrown hairs with laser hair removal, although it is less likely. During the laser hair removal process, you may actually get more ingrown hairs than you are used to- as any time you change the modality with which you remove hair- shaving to waxing to nairing to epilating to laser hair removal. Over time, the number of in-growns should drastically reduce with laser hair removal, as there will be less hair. Good luck! ...Read more

I have noticed very tiny light hair under my eyes (over the cheeks) , how to remove it permanently? And if i shave it will it grow thick n dark?

Waxing may help : Please realize that most people cannot see the light hairs, (i.e., looks like peach fuzz on the face) unless they are at very close range, or if you're using a very high-powered bathroom mirror. These types of hairs are too light for laser hair removal. However, they can be removed by electrolysis, or continual waxing. Some people advocate threading. Consult w/an esthetician, who does this work. ...Read more

Dear doctor, Ive had a laser hair removal which turned out horrible. I have dark spots all over, and hair stuck under the skin. More hair than before?

Re-consult the doc.: Laser usually burns or cuts. The superficial skin can be burned/damaged and forms scabs. Typically laser targets certain phase of hair growth, so the "affected hair" is destroyed but the unaffected continues to grow under the scabs. The scabs should fall off and you should see normal hair growing, but should be less and less after each treatment. re-consult doc to address your concern. Good luck ...Read more

Laser after IPL: That should not be a problem. You should wait 4-6 weeks after your last IPL to allow the effects of that treatment to be maximized and to allow resting hair follicles to become active for treatment with the laser.
