Am on the pill + tegretol. Have 12 days til next period but have old blood spotting and brighter red blood clots too, not large. Just had colonoscopy?

Tegretol: Low platelets from tegretol due to bone marrow supression can occur (rarely). This can lead to bleeding. (i order CBC to check rbc WBC and platelet counts periodically on my patients who take tegretol) also there is an increased risk of birth control failure with tegretol use. Or the breakthrough bleeding may be totally unrelated. See your doctor and get examined. You might want to get a CBC too. ...Read more

Bad gas/urination/anemia for over 2 years. Endoscopy/colonoscopy clean. Was told stress. Now I have a late period. Could it be a UTI or bad thyroid?

Seemingly unrelated: I'm not sure what the urination problem is, but "bad gas" is usually dietary related and anemia in a young woman such as yourself is often due to excessive menstrual bleeding. Stress may contribute to digestive issues and a late period. If you are having painful or frequent urination, then be checked for a UTI.You should be taking iron supplements; with late period check for pregnancy. Good wishes ...Read more

If I have my period twice in one month will i get it next month?

Count the days: You should count the days from the beginning of one period to the beginning of the next to give your cycle length. Normal cycle length is 21-35 days for adults. Cycles shorter or longer than this are abnormal. If you started 1 period on the 1st of the month, and the next on the 26th (=2 periods/month), that's normal, but if < 21 days, see your dr to figure out why. ...Read more

I have to go swimming but i have my period what can i do?! I cant wear pads they will get soaked

Tampons: Girls and women are usually able to do all their sports activities during menstrual bleeding if they use tampons. Sometimes, the menstrual flow is a lot, and a girl will leak despite having a tampon in. That means she might want to use tampons a couple of cycles to learn how well they work for her (so surprises will be less likely to happen). Be sure to change tampons at least every 4-6 hours. ...Read more

What to do if I have my period sometimes regularly but sometimes I can take up to 3 months to get my period, does that mean I'm not fertile ?

What to do if I have my period sometimes regularly but sometimes I can take up to 3 months to get my period, does that mean I'm not fertile ?

Possibly!: You definetly have some irregularity. I would suspect that the periods you are having are not even hormonal and may be due to not releasing an egg. If this is the problem then you will have minimal chance of getting pregnant. I would see your PCP or fertility doctor. They can then determine if you are ovulating. You may be fertile, but not ovulating could be a major issue. ...Read more
