Can I Feed A 5 Month Old Baby Yogurt
8-9 months: Yogurt can be a healthy part of a baby's diet. Make sure you buy plain whole milk yogurt- babies need these fats, so no nonfat yogurt for them! also try to avoid buying the flavored varieties- plain is best and if you want to mix in some bananas or other fruit thats fine but the pre-flavored ones have too much added sugar for babies. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Yes: I would question why so soon.In previous years when homemade formula from cow milk was routine, early feeding was necessary to improve nutrition. Now we understand breast or formula alone is fine & allows baby to develop motor skills that improve their transition to solids.I like to start @ 6m & making your own is a great way to avoid some of the additives & preservatives in commercial products. ...Read more
6 months: Years ago, breastfeading was frowned on & many made "formula" from boiled cow milk&karo. Since cow milk is designed for calves, infants were fed early & often to make up for deficiences in cow milk. Now that breast is back, or formulas mimic breast, solids are optional. The sitting child is more capable of participating & few sit before 6m. Babies can wait past a year and thrive. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
