Fatty liver: Fatty liver is common in america, and is typically associated with alcohol ingestion, obesity, high cholesterol/triglycerides, and diabetes, among others. The more of these risk factors, the greater the risk of having fatty liver. Is it okay to drink a glass of wine if I have gall stones/gall bladder problems?

Is it okay to drink a glass of wine if I have gall stones/gall bladder problems?

Maybe: Obviously avoid alcohol if it causes any pain or discomfort. Best treatment for gall stones is have a laparscopic cholecystectomy (removal of gall bladder) which in good medical centers is performed as a day surgery procedure. Red wine can increase gall bladder symptoms. Alcohol/wine can irritate a sensetive bladder, specially ic patients. Why consume it if results are unpleasant?

I'm 22 & was diagnosed with hcm in august. My heart wall measurement is 1.7 is it safe to drink a glass of wine a day to relief stress and depression?

I'm 22 & was diagnosed with hcm in august. My heart wall measurement is 1.7 is it safe to drink a glass of wine a day to relief stress and depression?

Let's clarify: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is very often a total non-problem. If you're despondent over this, address what you can do about it. Are you a candidate for curative surgery? Do you even need treatment? It's no reason not to enjoy wine -- but why drink because you're sad / upset? Find a reason to be happy, and let that be why you enjoy your wine with people you love. Best wishes.

Hello,: Hello, I am wondering if this could be hypothyroidism. Some symptoms can inlcude: weight gain, hair loss, iincrease in tongue size and dry skin. Dry skin can be a source of itching. Other possible symptoms include: feeling tired and weak, feeling depressed or irritable, decreased sex drive, muscle cramps and pain, coarsening of hair, sensitivity to cold and constipation. If your skin feels dry, I suggest using a moisturing lotion. The way that hypothyroidism or other possible endocrine problems would be diagnosed is through specific lab tests.
