Can I Do Yoga With An Aircast Ankle Boot
Started hot yoga, don't know if connected, got tiny raised bumps on hand, itchy! Then on inner ankles, now kinda all over. What could it be, toxins?
Scabies or allergy?: The rash could be due to scabies or chigger bites, or due to contact allergies. Rashes and itching caused by chigger bites looks and feels scabies or contact allergy and are caused by a combination of digestive enzymes secreted by mites and the immune response of the host causing an intense pruritus (jones, j.G. (1987). Is it due to contact allergy to mats or lotions used during yoga? See doctor!
Doctor's decision: Immobilization for treatment is based on the type of injury sustained and the doctor's decision. If yours is one that can heal with weightbearing, you may be placed in a walking boot/cam walker; however, if it is an injury that will require more stringent immobilization a cast may be employed.See 1 more doctor answer
I sprained my ankle and chipped it a little, would one of those boots be an option so I don't have to use crutches?
Ankle Sprain: A Cam walker should be used for 4-6 weeks to allow the ankle to heal. If the pain is severe you can use crutches as well until the pain improves and you can use the walker alone. Good luckSee 1 more doctor answer
I have a tibial sfx but don't know what kind of boot to get? It is about 3 inches above ankle. Do I need short or tall?
Tall: But not sure why your doctor did not dispense or inform you.See 2 more doctor answers
It depends: On how severely you injured the ankle. It might be a couple of weeks, or a few weeks longer. Talk to your treating physician what is appropriate for you.See 1 more doctor answer
My ankle is really big and hard. Did I get hurt really bad? I don't wanna wear crutches or that black boot. Am I gonna have wear that or what?
You ask if you got: Hurt bad...So tell us did you suffer any trauma? You need to visit a footdoc or orthopedist who can take ankle x-rays and determine what is wrong. If the treatment is to wear the boot - then yes you have to wear the boot. Unless, you have no desire to get better.See 1 more doctor answer
At least 3 weeks..: Hello, Tendon and ligament healing take about 4 weeks based on many studies, passive range of motion is allowed during week 3 and active range of motion is allow come week 4. With an ankle sprain depending on what ligaments and how bad they were involved I would say at least 3 weeks of offloading/protected weight-bearing would be appropriate. Feel Better!See 1 more doctor answer
Possibly: It could be helpful for you. I would recommend evaluation by a physician to see what's causing your ankle problems. A walking boot may not be the solution.See 1 more doctor answer
Not good idea: No, I would not think that would be wise. If you want a boot you can just go and purchase one, you don't have to injure yourself to get one.See 2 more doctor answers
Depends: It depends on the specific diagnosis. If you have a simple ankle sprain that has improved to the point it is often not painful at all, you may not need any immobilization. If you are improving to the extent you are nearly back to normal, you might just give it more time. If you are having persistent episodes of intermittent pain, then I would be seen for an accurate diagnosis.See 2 more doctor answers
Absolutely: I typically tell fracture patients who are being treated with a boot to sleep in it... especially when getting up to go to the bathroom... you don't have to worry about putting it on. Just clean it up really well on the bottom when you are allowed to walk in it... or wrap in a plastic bag so your bed doesn't get dirty. Best wishes!See 5 more doctor answers
I broke my ankle then had surgery and everything is going well. Will it be okay to walk with boots?
I put my boot back on like I was told to for my sprain ankle and it is causing pain that I wasn't having.
I twisted my ankle a week. In high heel boots miss the last step and my ankle twisted and now it hurts. What should I do?
I fell couple week on my ankle and my knee have been hurting off and on since. I was high boots and I twisted my ankle and landed on my knee.
Knee pain: The impact transmitted to the knee and the twisting of the foot twist the muscles attached to the knee and turn it can cause problem in the knee including meniscus tear. Have it evaluated and observed well. It could just be an inflammatory reaction and can go away or other condition.See 1 more doctor answer
How to alleviate ankle pain while snowboarding? My boots have been properly fitted and binding are new. Pain is worst on first run but persist.
I think: The question is what's wrong with the ankle…I would consider seeing a specialist to have it looked at.See 1 more doctor answer
Sprained my ankle badly a fewyears ago, recently again, it's been very painful. I've heard of people using walking boots for sprains. Would that be good?
Be seen: It would probably be a good idea to be seen first, in part to make sure you have not sustained a more severe injury than an ankle sprain such as, for example, a fracture. Mild ankle fractures may not need any immobilization although sometimes an ace wrap can reduce swelling. Severe grade III ankle sprains can be treated for the short term with rigid immobilization such as cast or boot.See 1 more doctor answer
I sprained my ankle 10-20 times already. It's painful. I've worn a ankle boot for 6 months. It stopped hurting but it came back? What should I do now?
Be seen: You would be wise to be seen and evaluated. When someone "sprains" there ankle, they stretch or tear ligaments that stabilize the ankle. They will often heal and so most people who sprain there ankle fully recover. But sometimes the ligaments don't heal and chronic instability with recurrent sprains can result. Ligament reconstruction may be indicated.
