Do you find yourself battling racing thoughts that interfere with sleep? Get checked!: It's tough to say what's going on, with such a brief history. This is certainly not normal though. Get a physical and appropriate lab testing by your doc soon. Nothing: Sorry, but there is no good solution other than better rest. No vitamins or immune sytem "boosters" are proved to be effective. Follow a generally healthy lifestyle in addition to sleep: balanced diet, exercise, stress reduction, high quality personal relationships. Several options: Insomnia sometimes has a cause that can be figured out ; addressed directly, e.g., depression or sleep apnea. Even lacking a sleep specialist, your family doc or internist should be able to help. Cognitive therapy (cbt-i) can help too. Other meds to consider: sedating antihistamines (diphenhydramine, hydroxyzine) ; sedating antidepressants (trazodone, doxepin, mirtazepine). ...Read more
