Can Hypertension Cause You To Feel Dizzy When Falling Asleep
Hypothyroid: hypothyroidism does not cause dizziness and off balance symptoms unless it is in the most critical or advanced stages when you are weak, your legs are swollen in the distant extremities. When was your last thyroid level checked. You probably are a little dehydrated. Drink a few glasses of water 28 to 32 oz and see if it still persists. If you are in blood pressure meds you can get this as well ...Read more
A blood pressure reading has two numbers: a systolic blood pressure and a diastolic blood pressure. The systolic blood pressure is the maximum pressure the blood exerts on the vessels when the heart is beating. The diastolic blood pressure is the pressure the blood exerts on the vessels in between heartbeats. Hypertension, or high blood pressure, begins when the systolic blood pressure remains above 140 or when the diastolic blood pressure remains above 90. Hypertension can be a result of increased blood flow through vessels or increased resistance to ...Read more
Can psychiatric medications cause collapsed airway or apnea? I am never able to fall asleep even when very tired
Not collapsed airway: I've never heard of a psychiatric medication causing a "collapsed airway, " but some like Klonopin (clonazepam) could cause apnea if taken in large quantities. If having trouble sleeping, get help -- starting with your own doctor. S/he will need to explore your history, and may also want consultations with psychiatrists and/or sleep medicine doctors. Clear diagnosis can lead to effective treatment for you. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Feel tingly legs also before falling a sleep i will have quick jerks not allowing me to fall a sleep..What can cause this, ?
You don't...: Don't force yourself to sleep at a time when you aren't tired, you will only make things worse, by driving down your sleep efficiency (tst/tib). Stay up until you are tired, then go to bed... Wake up a the same time 7 days/week. Don't take naps. Naps will completely mess up your schedule.. Follow this, and you will start to fall in to a routine and schedule. ...Read more

Why do I get sudden spells of fatigue (putting me to sleep), can't catch breath, and lightheaded. Pulse goes to >120 and have high bp. 155/95.
Sometimes when im falling to sleep i run out of breath and wake up. Can that be related to asthma.
No: The more likely cause is that you are experiencing a gasping arousal from sleep apnea. I would recommend that you talk to your family doctor about this and get a referral to your local sleep disorder specialist. A gasping arousal occurs when you stop breathing and eventually become so shortof breath that you wake up gasping for air. This is quite different from an asthma attack which include symptoms of wheezing generally. The fact that it is very much sleep related would alsospeak for being part of a gasping arousal. ...Read more

When trying to drift off to sleep, I start feeling clammy, sweaty and heart races... So it stops me from being able to sleep, I dunno why?
Heart recording: This is a "chicken and egg" question. You need to wear a heart monitor (24 hours or up to 30 days as needed) to see if you're having an arrhythmia (SVT) causing your symptoms or if your symptoms (panic attack?) are causing your heart to race. A monitor can distinguish these. Good luck, Brandon. ...Read more
Opiates side effects: Opiates cause a negative effect on the respiratory center located in the fourth ventricle, in the midbrain. You do not forget to breathe, but your brain is less able to measure that the oxygen level is low, and the co2 is high, and unable to respond adequately to your demands. That is why is dangerous to combine opiates with benzodiazepines and alcohol. All of them are depressants of the cns. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
