Some thoughts...: Pregnancy is the common cause of a missed period. If not pregnant, other causes of a late or missed period include: excessive weight loss or weight gain, increased exercising, emotional stress, having an illness, traveling, medicines (especially birth control pills), hormonal disorders, etc... A repeat pregnancy test can be done 1 week after that first test, and if negative, means not pregnant. ...Read more

You are not pregnant: Urine tests are accurate and blood tests are very accurate in detecting pregnancy. If you think you are pregnant bc you are late for your period, or your breasts hurt or other symptoms, there is probably another explanation. If you are having any new or concerning symptoms, a doctor should be willing to see you. You do not have to be pregnant to be seen by an Ob-Gyn. ...Read more

Can a blood pregnancy test be wrong if done too early?

Yes: Beta HCG is measured in both blood and urine and is usually detected between 6-12 days after fertilization when implantation occurs. A quantitative bhcg can measure very low levels of bhcg but the typical qualitative blood test usually turns positive at a higher level and is not always better than the urine test. Can smoking tabacco affect a blood and urine pregnancy test?

Can smoking tabacco affect a blood and urine pregnancy test?

Yes and No: Smoking tobacco is the intentional inhaling of smoke from burning organic material plus whatever chemicals have been added, and is thus toxic to life. A couple who smokes has decreased fertility than if they did not smoke, and therefor will have a higher likelihood of negative pregnancy tests compared to if they did not smoke.
