Probably not: Contrary to your concerns, coconut water is used by many to HELP in constipation. Pl see link. Also, according to some, constipation may not necessarily be caused by a lack of dietary fiber. Constipation, like asthma, can often be caused by opioid peptides in wheat- and dairy products and beta-carbolines in prepared food. (proteinous prepared food in particular). ...Read more

Possibly: Try eating unpasteurized yogurt three times a day or taking a probiotic and adding some otc fiber additive to take daily. This will bulk up the stool, and change the nature of bacteria in gut which will alter the odor. If this does not work see a GI doctor. If the constipation is of recent onset, get checked for thyroid function. ...Read more

Sometimes your: colon and intestine secrete some mucous. If this is too much this is not a desired condition. But mucousy stools are usually associated more with diarrhea then constipation. Are you getting enough fiber in your diet? Does anybody else in your family have colon problems? Have you taken a lot of antibiotics? These are some of the questions a doctor would ask to evaluate this for you. ...Read more

Not the best: Pedialyte and water are used more for hydration issues in a child. You need to speak with your Pediatrician regarding treatments for a 7 week old, as "too much" water should not be given either. Best wishes. ...Read more
