Can H pylori cause slight cramping and back pain?

Can H pylori cause slight cramping and back pain?

Helicobacter pylori: No. This organism does produce gastritis, peptic ulcers and predisposes to gastric cancer, although 70% of people with it in the GI tract have no symptoms. The cramping and the back pain can potentially be related to the changes caused by this bug, but not by the organism itself. Please see a GI doctor and have this explored further. Best wishes. ...Read more

Probably: Gastric ulcer is caused mainly by NSAIDS or H pylori. A PPI such as omeprazol and stopping the offending drug is the main treatment that takes care of it most of the time. Thats why Gastroenterologists prefer to repeat the endoscopy later to confirm resolution. Rarely, its not fixed and then you will more specialized treatment. For specifics, follow your doctor's recommendations. ...Read more

Some info. missing: Since don't know how far along you are, it's hard to generalize. During the third trimester, your stomach has less room for food and that can contribute to heartburn & indigestion. The enlarging uterus puts strain on the back muscles so back ache is common too. A kidney infection on the left side can cause the symptoms you describe also, and I recommend that be checked out too. ...Read more

Needs Evaluation: To find out the source of this issue. Could even be atypical chest pain from your heart as opposed to GI pain from an ulcerated esophagus. Expect a chest x-ray, ekg to check out your heart, possibly an upper GI endoscopy. Don't try to diagnose this yourself. See a doc asap. ...Read more

What causes persistent (several months) burning l mid abd pain migrating to l mid back area even though I completed an h pylori treatment?

Ulcer treatment pain: Although the burning is most suggestive of an ulcer there are a variety of potential other causes including splenic or pancreatic sources. It is most likely related to the ulcer and the very first thing to do is schedule a follow up endoscopy to ensure a satsifactory response to the h. Pylori. You may not have had a complete response and may require a second round of antibiotics. ...Read more

I was wondering can h pylori cause a burning feeling in middle back on the left side or is this something else it burns on left side chest and stomach?

Helicobacter pylori: H. Pylori by itself does not cause any pain. It can make it more likely to develop an ulcer, however, and certainly an ulcer, if present, could produce the kind of pain you're talking about.I would start by taking ranitidine 150 mg twice a day while awaiting an appointment at your doctor for further evaluation. Good luck. ...Read more
