Can Genital Herpes Spread To Mouth
How can genital herpes 1 be spread? (mouth herpes on genitals) through oral? Sex? And does it cause pain in thighs at all? Or give prickly sensations?
Genital or oral sex: Genital herpes due to HSV1 is not commonly spread at all, a lot less than HSV2. Outbreaks and asymptomatic viral shedding are infrequent. But transmission is possible by intercourse (genital to genital) or oral sex (genital to mouth). GH doesn't cause leg pain or give "prickly sensations" -- maybe rarely just before an outbreak, but never the only symptom and never lasting more than 1-2 days. ...Read more

Genital herpes for 6 years. Is it possible to accidentally spread genital herpes to mouth after that long?
If I've had genital herpes for over 6 years, is it still possible to accidentally spread it to the mouth or eyes?

Here is. ..: Your precaution is well taken and respected but excessive. Known to most if not all, we always coexist and live with all kinks of bugs - bacteria, virus, parasites, etc. Here and there; but these living agents will not cause diseases to us as long as our natural barriers such as skin & mucosa are not broken usually by self-infliction or accidents, & if we has sufficient defense from healthy life.. ...Read more
If I have genital herpes and I reach down and touch my bumps then touch my mouth can it spread to my mouth? Me and my partner both have genital herpes and we are wondering about the possibilities of spreading the virus.
It is highly unlikely. Herpes simplex virus 2 is a fragile virus, released from active (and latent) sores on the genitals and is spread by direct skin to skin contact with genitals or mouth. Having said that, it is possible to spread genital herpes to the mouth by way of direct contact.
Also, it is best to avoid sexual contact when both of you have active sores. It is recommended that you each consider taking suppressive medication therapy to decrease the risk of outbreaks. ...Read more
Herpes Transmission: Herpes simplex virus (hsv) has two types: type I generally infects the mouth and produces "fever blisters". Type ii more commonly is genital. However, performing oral sex on someone infected with hsv I or ii can result in oral herpes. There are blood tests that can quickly determine if you've been infected with either strain. Antivirals help to reduce shedding and infection. ...Read more

If I keep giving my bf oral and he has genital herpes what are my odds of getting it in the oral area, my mouth?
I have been with same man 5 years. Why am I just now contracting genital herpes? And why haven't I contracted it to my mouth?
Genital herpes: Usually sexually transmitted and has nothing to do with oral herpes (cold sores)-HSV-1. Assuming that both you and your partner are monogamous, there is still an symptomatic carrier state which can lay dormant for years; however, if either partner has had sexual relations outside of their relationship, then all bets are off. Both/all partners need to be examined. ...Read more
If my partner doesn't have herpe sores on there mouth but have genital herpes, can I recieve oral sex from them?
Every sexually active adult must have the herpes blood tests. Having or not having sores is now known to be meaningless in this question. One can have the infection, be contagious and not have outbreaks. Viral shedding can be a silent risk in those infected with herpes.
I would be surprised if your partner knew where they were infected with herpes, but if they do then a simple condom is prote. ...Read more
Is it possible to transmit genital herpes to someone if they touch the crotch of your thin sweatpants while wearing them and then touch their mouth?
No risk at all: Herpes simplex virus (HSV) is transmitted ONLY by direct genital-genital or oral-genital contact. The virus is not transmitted at all by the kind of indirect contact you mention. If you don't have sex with an infected person, you'll never get it. So choose your partners with care and have safe sex with new or possibly high risk partners. Otherwise no worries about herpes or other STDs. ...Read more

I keep getting conflicting answers with research. I have HSV2 genital herpes. Can my partner contract herpes to his mouth via my genitals?
Yes, he can: The mouth and throat can be infected with HSV2 by oral sex. Of course he also is at risk of genital herpes by intercourse. He can have a blood test: if already pos for HSV2, he is immune and won't catch it again. If negative or not tested, reduce his risk by no sex during outbreaks, consistent condoms for vaginal sex, and you taking anti-HSV treatment continuously, e.g. valacyclovir once daily. ...Read more
If you have genital herpes and you touch your zipper from jeans and then touch your mouth will u get infected with ur own genital herpes?
Depends on immunity: A person who has herpes on the his genitals should have immunity if he is not having his very first skin lesions. That means he should not be able to spread his own genital herpes to other sites on his body. Suppose, however, that he is playing with a woman's genitals, and she has the other strain of herpes that he doesn't have... then, he can spread her herpes onto his body parts. Life has risks. ...Read more

Genital herpes, HSV -2 generally remains localized to the genital area. You could get HSV -1 lesions in the mouth. Primary HSV -2 can also occur in the mouth with oral sex. Not Likely: Herpes requires disruption of the protective surface to cause infection.
